Tobias Gourlay smells goals in eastern Europe as Jagiellonia Bialystock head to Zaglebie Lubin
Zaglebie Lubin v Jagiellonia Bialystock
Friday 19:30
We wouldn't normally revel in serious illness, but Las Palmas's chronic travel sickness continues to pay us dividends. A 3-1 defeat at Eibar last night means we finished on the right side of the handicap line.
To Poland today, where Jagiellonia Bialystock have been the surprise package of this season's Ekstraklasa. With three rounds of the regular season to go - before a seven-game playoff system kicks in - they're one point clear at the top of the table.
Their away form is not good, however. Though they continue to win comfortably on home turf (they've scored 14 in winning 4/4 there since the start of February) Baba Yaga have managed just one point from nine on the road. While their interest is in accruing as many points as possible going into the playoffs, we're focusing on the goals markets. Since September, 7/9 of their away games have delivered Over 2.5 Goals and that's our odds-against punt for today.
Fifth-placed Zaglebie Lubin still need at least one more win to make sure they join Yaga in the top-half playoffs. The Coppers have seen 5/7 home matches deliver Over 2.5 Goals and, in their quest for three points today, there should be more entertainment along the way.
