Denmark fans saw their team reach the European Championship semi-finals in the summer

"Maehle managed this in all three games the Danes won in the summer – against Russia, Wales and the Czech Republic – and given Scotland’s problems it’s not hard to see the hosts dominating this one too."

Back Maehle 2+ shots on target @ 10/1

After their Euro 2020 disappointment, Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign resumes with a daunting fixture.

Denmark were excellent at the Euros in the summer, managing to progress to the semi-finals despite the horror of Christian Eriksen's collapse in their opening game.

They crushed Russia and Wales before knocking out the Czech Republic, while they led England in the semi-final before losing to a controversial penalty.

Now they host the Scots, who have been hard-hit by withdrawals from their squad, particularly in midfield.

John McGinn and Stuart Armstrong both started their final Euro 2020 game against Croatia but won't play here, while a player who might have moved into the midfield from his defensive role, Manchester United's Scott McTominay, is also missing.

Given the attacking verve the Danes showed in the summer, that's a major worry, although it's unlikely Martin Braithwaite will play, while Kasper Dolberg is also absent.

However, that may only increase the attacking workload of the man on which I'm putting my money, namely wing-back Joakim Maehle.

The Atalanta man was somewhat unfortunate not to make the Euro 2020 team of the tournament after some outstanding displays in which he got forward with great regularity.

He fired off 10 shots across the six games and is 5/4 for 2+ in this game or 13/8 for 1+ on target.

However, I'm going to chase the bigger odds of 10/1 about Maehle having two or more shots on target in this game.

He managed this in all three games the Danes won in the summer - against Russia, Wales and the Czech Republic - and given Scotland's problems it's not hard to see the hosts dominating this one too.

If that happens, Maehle seems likely to play a big role down the Scots' right - their weaker flank defensively.

10/1 about something which happened in three of his last six internationals just looks too big to ignore.
