Football Bet of the Day: Goals to fly in for Red Bull Salzburg again

The Parakeets had their feathers ruffled in Vallecas last night. 3-0 they lost to Rayo Vallecano, but we're not going to judge them for it.

Today we're visiting some old friends of the column. Red Bull Salzburg are top of the Austrian Bundesliga and scoring almost three goals a game on their own (34 in 12 so far). Six outings at the Red Bull Arena have brought 29 goals at both ends.

This afternoon they entertain bottom-of-the-table SV Ried, who should not expect a warm welcome. Four of the last five head-to-heads in Salzburg have delivered Over 3.5 Goals and the Red Bulls have already won a meeting 4-1 in Ried this season.

To their credit, Ried have scored in each of their last five away games too. It might just be a consolation to them, but for us any contribution they make would be very welcome. With Salzburg conceding twice in 4/6 on home turf this term, there's a good chance the visitors will do their bit to get us over the goals line.

Since the start of last season, two-thirds of Salzburg's home games (16/24) have produced Over 3.5 Goals, including each of the most recent four. Despite the odds-on price, the trend is too strong to ignore today.
