"Qatar SC haven't managed to beat Al Arabi in their last four matches against them, and last time they hosted them they lost 4-0."
After frustration in Scotland last night, Kevin Hatchard's taking us to sunnier climes today, as we pop over to Qatar for the first time.
Qatar SC v Al Arabi
Thursday April 16, 16:15
Kilmarnock chose a fine time to break their scoring duck, as they took the lead at Celtic last night, only to eventually get bashed 4-1. Darryl Westlake's deflected strike proved to be a pointless goal that only served to wreck our Celtic win to nil wager. I won't tell you how much shortbread and Irn-Bru I had to consume to get over it, but safe to say the diet's out of the window.
We're getting as far away from Scotland as we can, and we're making our first trip to Qatar. Qatar Sports Club are taking on Al Arabi Doha in the Qatar Stars League, and if we don't all melt in the heat, we might be able to earn some cash.
Qatar SC are a healthy fourth in the Stars League, and just a point outside the AFC Champions League qualification places. However, they have stumbled in the last month or so, losing two of their last three league games. Their recent home form is even more concerning, as they have won just two of their last eight games at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.
A clash with Al Arabi is the last thing Qatar SC need, as they haven't beaten them in the last four meetings between the sides. The last time the Kings hosted the Dream Team (seriously, that's what Al Arabi's nickname is), it proved to be a nightmare for the home side, as they lost 4-0.
Al Arabi's general form isn't bad either. They have won four of their last five matches in all competitions, and their only defeats in the last nine league games have come against the top two, Lekhwiya and Al Sadd.
Overall, Al Arabi have lost just four of their 12 away games, and Qatar SC have won just five of their 12 home matches. The price of 1.645/8 for the home win looks too short, so let's oppose it.
