Football Bet of the Day: Defences to melt away in Marseille

The Big River didn't exactly run wild in Portugal last night, but they did get the job done. Rio Ave's 1-0 win over Chavas gives us a shot at finishing the week in profit. To do that, we need another winner today.

The chosen game is tonight's big one from France. While James Eastham's got an informed view on the match outcome, it's the goals markets that have caught our eye. PSG's last five trips to the Stade Velodrome have each brought Over 2.5 Goals, with 3/4 getting to Over 3.5 Goals, so we're aiming high for this evening's clash.

In winning each of their first 10 Ligue 1 games of the current campaign, Thomas Tuchel's PSG have scored 37 goals, striking at least three times in all 10 matches. They've scored 13 times on four road trips so far and, encouragingly for our bet, conceded at least once in 3/4.

Fifth-placed Marseille have not been short of goals themselves. Rudi Garcia's men are unbeaten at the Velodrome, having notched 15 in five matches there so far. They've scored at least twice in all five. PSG have conceded in all three of their Champions League outings this season and look like they could struggle to keep out a strong attacking force this evening. With goals all but guaranteed at the other end, Over 3.5 Goals is our bet of the day.
