Football Bet of the Day: Leganes to lose in island fortress

We've spent most of this week on the Iberian Peninsula. Just this morning, we were over in Catalonia for the early kick-off, and now we're going to finish this shift in the Canary Islands.

The pride of Gran Canaria, Las Palmas are exactly what you might imagine an island team to be: great at home; terrible travel sickness as soon as they have to get on a boat.

At Estadio Gran Canaria, the locals went W17-D11-L10 through their first two seasons back in the big time. Take out their results against teams that finished those seasons in the top six, and they were a very robust W15-D8-L3. This season, the pattern continues: they lost to Atletico Madrid, who look well set for the top six again, but most recently won 1-0 against Athletic Bilbao, who may or may not reach those heights.

Today we're backing Manolo Marquez's men to take all three points from Leganes, who finished last season - their first back in the top flight - one place above the drop zone. The visitors are W4-D5-L12 on the road since their return, but three of those wins were front loaded into last season. They're W1-D5-L11 since then and we don't fancy their chances of taking the island this afternoon.
