A topsy-turvy game in Spain last night ended with a crash-landing for the Parakeets. Espanyol went 0-2 down, recovered to 2-2, but eventually lost 2-3 at Sociedad and took our handicap bet down with them.

We're looking to bounce back at home this evening. Tonight's televised FA Cup replay sees the Championship's Blackburn Rovers host Newcastle United of the Premier League. We fancy the lower-division club to go forward into the next round.

Rafa Benitez's Newcastle are struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table. The Magpies are third bottom and the manager has made it very plain that survival is his priority. He chose to rest some of his most important players for the first meeting with Blackburn, which ended in a 1-1 draw at St James' Park. He has already said he will choose another weakened team for this replay, which comes just four days before a Premier League six-pointer with fellow strugglers Cardiff City.

The teams alongside Newcastle in the bottom four - Cardiff, Huddersfield and Fulham - have all already exited this season's FA Cup. With their minds on Premier League survival, they each lost to lower-league opposition. From all that Benitez has told the press, Newcastle look set to accept the same fate.

Blackburn have won 4/7 Championship games at Ewood Park. That run includes wins over Leeds and most recently West Brom, both of whom are currently in the top four. Boss Tony Mowbray has said, "We always believe we can win, particularly at home."
