Bayern Munich v Schalke

There must be something unlucky about Red Bull. On Sunday Tobias saw a Red Bull Salzburg bet go up in smoke, and last night the Leipzig version let me down with a 1-0 home defeat against a modest Sandhausen side. Maybe the cosmos is trying to tell us something.
We're staying in Germany, but moving a level up. The champions Bayern Munich are closing in on an unprecedented fourth consecutive Bundesliga title, as they are seven points clear of closest challengers Borussia Dortmund with five games to go. Pep Guardiola's men are also into the last four of the Champions League, and this could be the season that defines his legacy in Bavaria, before he embraces the incessant rain of Manchester.
Bayern have been relentlessly strong at the Allianz Arena in domestic football, winning all but one of their matches in league and cup. In seven of their last nine Bundesliga home games, they have won without conceding a goal.
Schalke have managed to hold it together for most of the season, but fans of the Royal Blues know a meltdown is never too far away, and the cracks are starting to show. Although S04 hit back twice last weekend to draw 2-2 against bitter rivals Dortmund, they were abject the weekend before in a 3-0 defeat at Ingolstadt, and they have only won three of their last nine league matches.
Equally disturbing is the fact that coach Andre Breitenreiter seems to have glumly accepted he is getting the push at the end of the season, whether he leads Schalke into the top four or not. The former Paderborn boss was never Schalke's first choice, and although he has knitted the squad together and boosted morale, he is tactically limited.
Schalke have drawn a blank in four of their last five away games in all competitions, and they'll be starved of possession at the Allianz Arena. I fancy Bayern to win to nil at 1.991/1.
