"Newcastle scored a couple against Morecambe in midweek, but in two Premier League games so far, have managed just one shot on target."
Andrew Hughes thinks Fulham are good value for a draw against a struggling Newcastle, to land the first leg of a Saturday cross-sport multiple.
Bet 1: Back Newcastle to draw with Fulham at 3.412/5
Each of the last five Premier League meetings between these sides has gone to the home team, but I think Fulham can break that sequence on Saturday and pick up a point from their long away journey.
They aren't the most spectacular side in the Premier League, but they are often underrated, particularly away from home, where they can prove tricky to break down, as Sunderland found on the opening day of the season.
Their task will be made easier by the fact that their opponents appear goal shy at the moment. Newcastle scored a couple against Morecambe in midweek, but in two Premier League games so far, have managed just one shot on target. A home draw against West Ham last week had the Geordie faithful booing, and it is likely to be more of the same at St James's Park this Saturday.
Bet 2: Back England to beat Australia at 2.01/1
According to the ICC rankings, England are the second best Twenty20 side in the world, and Australia the fifth, but it didn't look like that on Thursday. Australia lost David Warner cheaply, but still managed to rack up a huge score of 248 on an admittedly flat Rose Bowl wicket.
Not for the first time in the shortest format, England's bowling lacked guile, and it was only thanks to a defiant knock from the talented Joe Root, playing in just his third international Twenty20, that they got anywhere near the Australian total.
However, there is not a lot between these sides. Australia's opening pair probably has the edge, but the home side have a stronger lower order. At bigger odds than the tourists, England are the value bet to bounce back at Chester-le-Street.
Bet 3: Back Integral to win the 3:15 at Sandown at 2.56/4
The classiest race on Sandown's Sunday card is the 3:15 Atalanta Stakes, a Group Three for fillies, in which some promising three-year-olds take on their elders, although the withdrawal of Chigun means that the younger horses are likely to dominate this one, and it is likely to be a battle between Integral and Zibelina.
Zibelina was unraced as a two-year-old but has not put a foot wrong in winning all three races this year, including her latest success, the De Lieurey Stakes at Deauville, and has tremendous potential.
But I think she will prove second best on the day, and am going with the Sir Michael Stoute horse, Integral. She won a very strong Goodwood maiden back in May, followed up in a Listed event over course and distance, and was far from disgraced when having a luckless passage in the Nassau Stakes. She can take this prize en route to greater things, including possibly the Sun Chariot Stakes next month.
