Porto have played their home games at the Estadio do Dragão in Porto since 2003, moving to the stadium from their former home ground, the Estadio das Antas. Porto's home ground has an all-seater capacity of 50,399, deriving its name from the dragon on the crest of the city of Porto during the Monarchy.

After the birth of the Primeira Liga in 1933, Porto have never been relegated from the First Division of Portuguese football, winning 67 domestic titles, 27 of those coming in the Primeira Liga. FC Porto were also one of the founding members of the disbanded G-14, and they were a founding member of the European Clubs Association.

Other national titles won by the club include the Portuguese Cup 16 times, the Championship of Portugal a record four times (a national record jointly held with Sporting) and the Portuguese SuperCup 20 times, including five consecutive (a national record).

FC Porto became the second team in the history of the Primeira Liga to twice go through an entire 30-game season without losing a match, achieving the feat in the 2010-2011 and 2012-2013 seasons and matching Benfica's record. Porto finished the 2010-2011 season a record 21 points ahead of second placed Benfica, setting the record for the biggest points difference between the champions and runners-up.

As well as their domestic achievements, Porto have enjoyed significant success in European football, winning seven international titles during their history: the 1986-1987 European Champion Clubs' Cup, the 1987 Toyota Cup, the 1987 European Super Cup, the 2002-2003 UEFA Cup, the 2003-2004 UEFA Champions League, the 2004 Toyota Cup and the 2010-2011 UEFA Europa League.

Former captain João Pinto holds the record for most appearances for the club, playing 587 games for Porto during a 16-year career with the club. Fernando Gomes holds the club record for most goals with 352, while former goalkeeper Vitor Baía is Porto's most successful player, having won a total of 25 titles during his two spells with the club.
