Time for Cobblers to stand up
Harrogate 3.412/5 v Northampton 2.56/4; The draw 3.412/5
Keeper Lee Burge played a starring role in Northampton's goalless draw with Tranmere, who hadn't won in nine games. The Cobblers need to lift their game a little to absolutely cement their promotion push. Lucky for them their away form is even better than their home form.
Their hosts have found some form. Either side of a reverse at bottom club Hartlepool in the FA Cup, the Sulphurites struck three past Mansfeld and four against Rochdale. They have only failed to score only once in 10 League Two matches, netting 18 in total.
Simon Weaver's men, however, have won just three of those which makes them vulnerable to another defeat that will keep them pinned in the bottom five.
They have plenty of capable scorers in Luke Armstrong, Alex Pattison and Matt Daly, but having conceded 19 goals in 10 games it is whether they can outscore opponents that matters.
Northampton's games don't seem quite so thrilling by comparison. Reports suggested that Sam Hoskins had the best chance for Jon Brady's side last Saturday in second half injury time.
In their past 10 they have scored 10 and conceded seven, with four clean sheets, two away from home. Brady had an "awful decision" to make when he left out Harvey Lintott, 19, from the matchday squad last weekend, which indicated that his group were the strongest they have been all season - nearly back to full strength.
Aaron McGowan is feeling confident now he is back from six months out injured, at the heart of the defence. He is determined to gain promotion and it is games like these they must win, as they did at second placed Stevenage six weeks ago.
That was 3-2, but it could be asking quite a bit for that sort of scoreline. Opta say Northampton, who have won three away games running, have not won more in a row since between November and February 2015-16 (8).
Dons can prove a point against the odds
Swindon 2.111/10 v AFC Wimbledon 4.03/1; the draw 3.613/5
Seven games unbeaten, four clean sheets in a row (Opta emphasise) and AFC Wimbledon are the biggest price of the week to win across the division. By contrast their hosts have not secured a clean sheet in six games, winning just twice, and have not scored in two games. To fail for a third game would be their worst run since April 2021 say Opta.
Ethan Chislett was the one to keep the Dons' run going, netting for the second League Two match running. It must be Josh Davison's turn soon, after Ayoub Assal has contributed in recent weeks.
However that doesn't mean Johnnie Jackson's side will win here, merely that they are overpriced, given the statistics. This gives them a fair price of a draw against Scott Lindsey's side who are now only two places and to points above them after their fantastic run.
Swindon's performance at Crawley was "not good enough" declared the manager, who lost Saidou Khan to a serious head injury. It's a while since Jacob Wakeling and Luke Jephcott have scored. The Robins have one point from their past two home games and both sides have drawn two of their past six games. A point apiece could ensue.
Sutton needs to make most of home advantage
Sutton United 2.111/10 v Colchester 4.57/2; the draw 3.613/5
Matt Gray's hosts took a valuable point at Carlisle last weekend, a side who like to draw at home. Sutton, last season, loved to win at home. This season they are not doing too badly at that either, taking five victories at Gander Green Lane and two draws.
Will Randall equalised but Carlisle could have been ahead twice but had goals ruled out. A little bit more quality up front was what the manager called for afterwards. A few more goals from Donovan Wilson or Omar Bugiel might not go amiss.
Colchester are a bit hit and miss and visit south London on the back of six straight away defeats, Opta emphasise.
Kwesi Appiah made a welcome return for Matt Bloomfield's side last weekend while Alex Newby has scored in the past two games.
Sutton, say Opta, have won just twice in their last 11 games (one of those was in their last home match).
Bantams can leave Gills reeling
Gillingham 3.814/5 v Bradford 2.35/4; the draw 3.412/5
Bradford City have the perfect chance to bounce back from recent reverses to promotion rivals, at home to Northampton and at Leyton Orient last weekend. Defender Brad Halliday asks supporters to stick with the Bantams.
Gillingham have struck just six goals in League Two this season - astonishingly few for 20 games.
They have conceded 24, which gives Andy Cook and whoever else Mark Hughes decides to put up front the chance to put their promotion hopes firmly back on track.
The absence of Vadaine Oliver and Lee Angol has prompted Bradford to be linked with Crawley's Tom Nichols, although the club has denied it is them who is interested in the striker.
Hughes says there are "no dramas" after recent defeats, believing the team will still be challenging for promotion at the end of the season.
Frustrations boiled over in Neil Harris' post match comments. Only able to work with what he has until January, the Gills manager said his strikers were not up to the job - even in training. Midfielder Ben Reeves was denied by Salford's keeper but also spurned a chance provided by Jordan Green. It seems unlikely that the hosts can kept the visitors at bay. Nicky Shorey's departure as head of recruitment does not seem to have improved his mood, especially just before the transfer window.
Opta point out that Gillingham have not failed to score in seven consecutive games in the Football League. They are in such poor touch this just might happen.
