League One
Out of the two promoted teams from League Two, Stevenage have accrued the most points with 10 from their five games, while the League Two runaway champions Orient are on four.
The O's don't look a great price at 15/82.88 and certainly can be seen as less propitious than they were in the division below, and Stevenage look fair enough and are certainly the right favourites for this at 6/42.50.
They have beaten Northampton and Cambridge on the road and are looking for back-to-back Football League wins over Leyton Orient for the very first time, having beaten them 3-0 most recently in January last season. Their xG numbers are slightly better on the road and could be wrapping up the signing of Manchester United striker Charlie McNeill on loan on Friday's deadline day.
KEY OPTA STAT: Stevenage have lost just two of their last 14 league matches (W8 D4), although they are without a win from their last two (D1 L1).
Liam Manning is proving me wrong at the moment at Oxford, and with 12 points thus far, the U's sit top of the table and should justify their outright 3/41.75 match odds price this weekend.
They've won four on the spin with eight goals and Tyler Goodrham's double last week against Charlton in a 2-1 win took his total to three in six this term and he's certainly benefitting from the inventive play of Ruben Rodrigues.
After conceding seven goals on the opening day of the season to Barnsley, Port Vale have gone on to keep three clean sheets from their next four league matches (W3 D1) and are living up to their manager's billing pre-season as one of the fittest and most energetic teams in the division.

Manning has been waxing lyrical about the signing of left-back Greg Leigh by saying: "His physical attributes are terrific. He gives you a lot going forward, but at the same point, defensively he's strong in the air, aggressive and robust."
Oxford also have Sonny Perkins in from Leeds and the squad looks deep.
KEY OPTA STAT: Oxford United are unbeaten in five league meetings with Port Vale (W3 D2) since a 0-3 defeat in October 2012, keeping a clean sheet in their last three.
The lack of consistency with teams in League One is already prevalent, and the big swings in results was laid bare with Wigan over their last two games.
They were brilliant in the 0-4 win at Bolton - a team who were unbeaten, yet they lost 0-2 at home to Barnsley the following week. Although the loss was somewhat skewed as the played the majority of the game with 10 men.
The Latics have only lost one of their last nine league matches (W5 D3), although their one defeat was last time out against Barnsley.
Expect a counter-attacking performance on the road and Charlie Wyke has two braces this season already with the Wigan striker five goals from six games, and he's an interesting runner too at 2/13.00 for Anytime Scorer bets.
KEY OPTA STAT: Wigan have lost their last two league trips to Blackpool, with both being 1-0 defeats in 2020-21 and 2022-23. They had only lost two of their previous 10 such visits beforehand (W6 D2).
League Two
I've been tied to Crewe and goals this season like chains of love, as they are absolutely tearing up the xG numbers so far.
Lee Bell's Alex have hit the BTTS bet on four of their five games so far and the Over 2.5 has landed easily too with three 2-2s and a 4-2.
Their xG at home is 1.23, but it's their xA of 1.93 that will hopefully keep us in business this weekend with the MK Dons - who scored five on the opening day of the season at Wrexham.
The Dons have found their groove and scored on 100 minutes two weeks ago for a 2-3 win at Colchester. With 12 points and topping the table, the Dons could be a win bet here, but the BTTS or Over 2.5 Goals looks the way to go.
KEY OPTA STAT: Crewe lost both league meetings with MK Dons the last season the two clubs met in 2021-22; they have never lost three in a row against the Dons in the Football League.
Doncaster have been dreadful this season, and save for an encouraging performance against Everton in midweek in the EFL Cup, they are readily opposable this Saturday at a price of 9/52.80.
With just one point from five games, Swindon are of great interest at 29/202.45 in the Match Odds betting and are dangerous here as they have hit seven goals on the road already.
Indeed, with an xG of 1.86, the goals should be flowing, although not as many as perhaps last weekend with their 6-0 thumping of Crawley. Swindon won this exact fixture last season 1-0 in September 2022; they have never won successive Football League visits to Doncaster before.
KEY OPTA STAT: Doncaster Rovers have won just two of their last 21 League Two matches (D4 L15), with both wins during this run coming at home.
Notts County have had more successful passes (2740), successful passes in the opposition half (1159), averaged more possession (65.3%) and had more open play sequences of 10+ passes (88) than any other League Two side this season, and that attacking intent is gold dust for a backer at the moment.
I've been backing Macauley Langstaff in the goals market this term, and it's him with David McGoldrick that could be one of the best partnerships in the division.
County wobbled at the start, but have no collected 10 points and have scored eight in their last four matches.
Accrington are unbeaten in their last five League Two visits to Notts County (W2 D3) since a 1-0 defeat in April 2008, with this their first such trip since a 2-2 draw in August 2017, but County look a decent bet this weekend for another home win.
KEY OPTA STAT: Each of Accrington Stanley's last three matches In League Two have had a goal scored in the final five minutes (F1 A2).
