The Traditional 3pm Acca: A 12/1 Acca from England's top two divisions

The pressure on Eddie Howe has eased in recent weeks

There is always something special about Saturday afternoon's at 3pm, and Paul Robinson has picked out a [12/1] Acca from games in the Premier League and Championship.

  • Magpies to grab another win

  • Victories from promotion chasing duo

  • Cardiff to come up short at Carrow Road

Leg 1 Newcastle (90mins) @ 8/111.73 (15:00)

Newcastle have now won three of their last four in all competitions, and while they were held here in an eight goal thriller by Luton a fortnight ago, they are a good bet to beat Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Cherries had been in good form, but they are now winless in five in the league - losing on three occasions. Their last three fixtures have been against West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Fulham, so it's not like they have been facing top teams either.

Leg 2 Leicester (90mins) @ 4/91.44 (15:00)

Leicester's march back to the Premier League continued during the week, as they eased past Sheffield Wednesday to remain 12 points clear at the top of the Championship.

Just 24 hours on from that, things were not going so well for Middlesbrough, as they went to Preston and lost 2-1, keeping their points tally at two from the last 12 available. There is no reason to believe that they can add to that at the King Power.

Leg 3 Ipswich (90mins) @ 8/111.73 (15:00)

The Tractor Boys picked up a much needed win at Millwall on Wednesday, cruising to a 0-4 success that was wrapped up by half time. It was their first win in the league since a 2-1 victory over Sunderland in mid-January, and with Southampton losing, it keeps them right in the hunt for automatic promotion.

They are on the road again this afternoon, but Swansea have lost five of their last six in all competitions, and it's three straight losses at home in the league - conceding eight goals and scoring just one of their own.

Leg 4 Norwich (90mins) @ 4/61.67 (15:00)

The Canaries extended their unbeaten home run to eight by beating Watford 4-2 on Tuesday, and that was win number six during that period. Recent victories over Coventry and West Brom prove they can beat the better teams in the division, and they even managed a draw with Southampton.

Cardiff aren't at the same level as any of the aforementioned sides, and they fell to defeat number five from their last six outings at the Hawthorns during the week.

Leg 5 Bristol City (90mins) @ 5/61.84 (15:00)

Bristol City managed to do what 25 other teams failed to do - beat Southampton - so they look generously priced at 5/61.84 to make it two wins at Ashton Gate inside a week.

Their win percentage at home has improved to over 50% in their last nine in front of their own fans, and QPR's mini revival came to an end at Stoke on Valentine's Day. They are third from bottom and while there has been improvement under Martí Cifuentes, they will likely head back to London empty-handed.

Acca Wreckers

Rotherham are bottom of the Championship, but I wouldn't want to include Watford at 8/111.73 to beat them at the New York Stadium.

The Millers have avoided defeat in nine of their 16 at home this term, and the Hornets head north without a win in seven and four straight defeats.

Another 8/111.73 shot that I am not going bet on this weekend is Man United. Admittedly their form has been better in recent weeks, and things are beginning to click, but how many times have we said that about this team in recent years?

Luton need to put a poor 1-3 home defeat to Sheffield United behind them, but their results prior to that had been good, and it was their first loss in 2024.
