Will Luis Alberto be handed his Liverpool debut?

The Capital One Cup returns on Tuesday and Notts County look to follow in the footsteps of Northampton Town who caused a huge upset at Anfield in 2010...

Liverpool have made a promising start to their campaign as they beat both Stoke and Aston Villa by a goal to nil. Daniel Sturridge has been the main man but it's perhaps the performance of his new back five that will have pleased Brendan Rodgers the most.

Simon Mignolet has been flawless in goal - making some fine saves including a Jon Walters penalty - and Kolo Toure has settled nicely alongside Daniel Agger as Martin Skrtel remains somewhat of an outcast under the Northern Irishman.

This game however is perhaps a time that Rodgers will give some of his fringe players a start, with the likes of Skrtel, Andre Wisdom and Brad Jones brought into the defensive side of things and Raheem Sterling, Luis Alberto and Fabio Borini given a chance further forward.

That was a tactic that cost Liverpool an embarrassing defeat in the FA Cup at Oldham last season though so it will be interesting to see if the manager makes a full 11 changes from the side that beat Aston Villa on Saturday or just four or five.

Notts County have made a pretty miserable start to their League One campaign as Chris Kiwomya's men have managed just one point from a possible 12. On the plus side, they did win through to this round of this competition - a 3-2 victory over League Two's Fleetwood Town.

The Magpies will also take hope from the fact that between February 2012 and January 2013, they went 22 matches unbeaten on the road and while they lost at Sheffield United on the opening day of this season, they did hold Walsall at The Bank's Stadium 10 days ago.

Match Odds
Liverpool 1.171/6 Notts County 20.019/1 The Draw 8.615/2

It's difficult to envisage anything other than a home win here despite The Reds likely fielding a weakened starting XI. If County were in better form a case could be made for a lay of Liverpool, but given the side's respective starts to the season, that notion seems folly.

Over/Under 3.5 Goals
Under 3.5 Goals 1.845/6 Over 3.5 Goals 2.111/10

Liverpool have won both games 1-0 thus far with Daniel Sturridge scoring both. Given his injury problems it's hard to see him getting much game time for this one as Fabio Borini, Luis Alberto and Raheem Sterling will likely be the front three. None of those players are that prolific and as Notts County have scored just four league goals thus far, under 3.5 seems like a steal at the prices.

Cash Out

There's nothing better than cashing out for a profit when your bet then goes on to lose and the Correct Score market offers an ideal opportunity for this match.

A 1-0 home win can be backed at around the 11.010/1 mark and that price should begin to collapse if County keep Liverpool at bay for most of the first half. Luis Suarez will definitely be missing and Daniel Sturridge will probably be on the bench at best, so considering those two netted 33 of Liverpool's 71 league goals last term, it's hard to imagine a rout for this match. There's a good chance it will be 0-0 or 1-0 at half time, so backing that scoreline pre match should offer an excellent cash out opportunity at the interval.
