Chelsea's front three clicking is bad news for the rest of the league
Cole Palmer was absolutely outstanding in Chelsea's opening game.
We all knew the ability he has, but we didn't quite see it as many times last season, whether it was injuries or whatever.
His start to the season and his performance was electric. The way he received the ball, how easy he made it look, how comfortable he was on the ball. That was something for Chelsea fans to look forward to and for the rest of the league to fear.
If Chelsea are going to have a good season, there's no doubt that he in particular will be key to that.
I also think he's got his good mate Morgan Rogers alongside him and incredible ability in João Pedro. If those three can click and go on like they did against Fulham, then they will cause serious problems for the rest of the league.
From personal experience, the best partnerships I've always worked with just clicked like that, no work needed. Whether it was Teddy Sheringham, Les Ferdinand, or Chris Sutton, those just happened like that.
Worryingly for the rest of the league, it looks as if those three have just clicked straight away. It's no surprise really because of the freedom that Rogers and Palmer will have, and then with the ability that Pedro has. You've got three wonderful footballers there, three very technically gifted players in terms of how they receive the ball, whether it's with their backs to goal, on the half turn, they're three very technically gifted players.
Even before the ball was kicked for Chelsea, I had them in second position. No European football will be a bonus for them in terms of getting players right and not playing in midweek so many times.
So, for me, yes, I think Chelsea will be the closest challenge to Arsenal.
The one area Chelsea need to improve
People will look at Chelsea and think they've spent all that money, yet they find themselves with a problem goalkeeper. He should have done better with the goal on Monday night.
The manager will try to protect him as much as he can, but maybe his performance against Fulham highlights the need for something to be done in the next week. Whether Chelsea will do that, we'll have to see.
Newcastle have something to look forward to this season
Against Liverpool there were some really good performances, particularly from Yoane Wissa.
Last season was a real disappointment for Newcastle and for him personally, but he had a decent World Cup and I thought he was absolutely outstanding against Liverpool.
If that's what we can expect, then that's something to look forward to.
I also think with a couple of additions hopefully this week for Newcastle, with him back in form and keeping him fit, then who knows what can happen.
Nico Gonzalez is a good signing, if they could get another forward in somehow, then I don't think that would be a bad thing either. But if they can get a couple in between now and the end of the window, that's certainly what they need.
Barcola in at Anfield paves the way for Gakpo to leave
Clearly Liverpool aren't going to let Cody Gakpo go if they don't get one or two in to replace him. Bradley Barcola is one of those.
I think he's a good player. He proved it by scoring against Newcastle at the weekend. But in terms of him moving that all depends on whether they can get one or two bigger hitters in to replace him.
Don't write off West Ham or Jarrod Bowen yet
It's not been an ideal start to life in the Championship for West Ham.
Clearly, Jarrod Bowen would have thought he'd give it one more season to get West Ham back up into the Premier League and then review it after that. But if West Ham don't get promoted, there's no doubt he could regret that decision.
However, I wouldn't write them off just yet. We've only had the first couple of fixtures, and there are lots of knee-jerk reactions as you'd expect.
Champions League draw brings back fond memories for me
When we won the league at Blackburn, we all came back into pre-season and we were really looking forward to the Champions League draw because Blackburn had never been in the Champions League before, and we're all sat around the desk and waiting for the draw to come out.
We were all really excited and then the draw came on and the first team out was Rosenberg, fine, second team out was Legia Warsaw. Then the third team out was Spartak Moscow. It wasn't exactly the draw we were looking for.
I did play in that game in Moscow, it was about -5c, absolutely freezing cold. We got absolutely battered and two of our teammates found themselves in a fight, so it wasn't exactly the result that we wanted or the performance.
It was a pretty frosty dressing room afterwards, as you can imagine, but it was all okay going forwards afterwards, it had to be.

I'm looking forward to more big Champions League moments this season
When it comes to the best Champions League moments for me, I'd have to give you two. The first is when Newcastle beat PSG at St James's Park.
The atmosphere leading up to the game, there was huge anticipation that night, it was very special for Newcastle to take on the big hitters.
The other one, without a doubt for me, is when Liverpool were 3-0 down, going into the second leg at Anfield against Barcelona.
I was co-commentating that night, and I have to say the atmosphere was probably the best I've ever seen.
