Stuart Broad is an English cricketer who plays international cricket for England and is currently captain of the T20 team, playing his county cricket for Nottinghamshire since 2008. A right-handed fast medium bowler, Broad has also proven himself to be something of an all-rounder due to his ability with the bat, spending the majority of his career as a regular in all three England teams.

Born on 24th June 1986 in Nottingham, Broad originally started his career as an opening batsman, following in the footsteps of his father, the former England opener Chris Broad, and not really focusing on bowling until he was 17 after he underwent a growth spurt that convinced him to become a fast bowler.
Broad's professional career started at Leicestershire due to the county's links to his school, Oakham School, but in 2008 he made the switch to Nottinghamshire, the county of his birth and the team for which his father played, but not before making his ODI debut against Pakistan in August 2006 and then his Test debut against Sri Lanka the following year.
At the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 tournament, Stuart Broad cemented himself in the history books for the wrong reasons, conceding a record-setting six sixes in a single over to Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh. The over stands as the most expensive fully completed over bowled in International-level Twenty20 cricket. Broad bounced back from that disappointment to help England win the World Twenty20 in 2010, taking eight wickets at an average of just 17.50 during the tournament.
Playing a key role in England's three successive Ashes series wins, Broad has been one of the most consistent England bowlers in the squad. On 30 July 2011, at the Nottingham Test match against India, Broad registered his first Test match hat-trick on his way to figures of 6-46. In his 63 Test appearances, Broad boasts an average of just over 30, with two 10-wicket matches to his name and 11 five-fours.
Broad's best bowling figures came following his return from injury in the summer of 2012, taking 7/72 on his way to 11 wickets in the match against the West Indies, coinciding with his climb to a career-high number three in the ICC bowling rankings. Broad took his 200th Test wicket during England's victorious 2013 summer Ashes triumph, winning the Man of the Match award in the Fourth Test after taking 11 wickets, finishing the series with 22 wickets to his name as the hosts secured a 3-0 series win in England.
