Bangladesh v Netherlands World Cup team news
Bangladesh captain Shakib-al-Hasan decided to go home for a bit after defeat by 149 runs against South Africa to spend time with his personal trainer. It's odd behaviour and suggests Bangladesh have checked out with a semi-final spot beyond them.
Probable XI: Tanzid, Das, Shanto, Shakib, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan, Nasum, Mustafizur, Shoriful
The Dutch were on the receiving end of their first real beating this tournament, going down by 309 runs against Australia. Their greatest test here will be of their character to see how they respond. Max O'Dowd could do with some runs up front.
Probable XI: O'Dowd, Singh, Ackermann, de Leede, Engelbrecht, Edwards, Nidamanuru, van Beek, van der Merwe, Dutt, van Meekeren
Bangladesh v Netherlands World Cup pitch report
There has been only one ODI at Eden Gardens in the last five years. Sri Lanka managed only 215 in defeat by India. We expect a flat surface, though. Four in the last eight IPL first-innings saw scores of more than 200. Going overs on a Dutch line at around mid 270s batting first is a fair option.
We note the 13/82.63 that a century is scored in first-innings. It could be this is a very good batting track indeed.
Bangladesh v Netherlands World Cup match odds
Bangladesh are as short as 1.402/5 for this one. It follows hot on the heels of England's price against Sri Lanka for the worst numbers of the tournament. Netherlands are a fair shout here at 3.45.
As stated, the biggest threat to the Dutch is whether they feel sorry for themselves. But we doubt that. They are a commited, organised bunch who see this is a great opportunity.
Bangladesh are already thinking of home and can't be trusted at the best of times to put a shift in.
Bangladesh v Netherlands World Cup player bets
It may be time to revisit Scott Edwards for top Netherlands bat at 5/16.00 considering he had one success already and boasts a win rate of more than 30%. There's not much doing on Bangladesh top bat or bowler.
