Timeform run the rule over the field for the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Willie Park Trophy Handicap (2).
Gordonsville wasn't far behind Dayia when the pair clashed in the Cesarewitch last time and, back at a venue where's he won before, is fancied to turn the tables. Alanbrooke was down the field that day, but still held every chance until the final two furlongs, his previous consistency suggesting he could make a swift return to form. CKW
Som Tala's wins are few and far between, allowed to dictate matters when landing the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle in June. He has been lacklustre since, racking up four duck eggs.
Alanbrooke has been a revelation since being fitted with blinkers, bolting up in handicaps at Sandown and Ascot and producing sound efforts in defeat until below form in the Cesarewitch last time. He is the type to bounce straight back.
Dayia is a consistent mare who returned from a summer break to score at Wolverhampton before finishing a good fourth in the Cesarewitch last time, beating three of these opponents. A career-high mark makes life harder, though.
Callisto Moon is an in-form stayer who has won four of his last five starts on the Flat, latterly via a good ride from the front at Bath. He will be dangerous if handed a soft lead, though a personal best is needed.
Gordonsville was successful here (over a mile and three quarters) and at Ayr earlier in the year. He was never a threat when sixth behind Dayia in the Cesarewitch, but could turn the tables at a track where he has winning form.
Wicked Daze is back in form for a new yard, finishing runner-up over two miles at Goodwood and a mile and a half at Catterick on his last two starts. He is likely to give another good account, though this is tougher in a change of headgear.
Inchnadamph is a veteran stayer who has shown he retains his ability this term, whilst also failing to convince with his finishing effort. The handicapper has shown some leniency, but he is on a long losing run.
Dazzling Light was a winner off a 3 lb lower mark over a mile and three quarters here in May and has finished in the frame on his last three starts, short of room at Ayr last time. The betting may help decide which of Jim Goldie's trio is most fancied.
Buckie Boy got off the mark in a maiden at Kempton in September after some near misses and improved again when third on his recent handicap bow. He has since left Henry Cecil and is unproven beyond thirteen furlongs. He is one of three from Jim Goldie's stable.
