Dandy Man is probably the best-known of the horses in this field but is somewhat past his best. Timeform give us their verdict.

b>Dandy Man would pick these up and carry them if at his best but doesn't appear to be as good as he once was and may not see which way Peace Offering goes if Dandy Nicholls' charge is on-song. Angus Newz can claim third spot.

Canadian Danehill has been well held the last twice but was in good form prior to that, scoring at Sandown and Newmarket in July. However, he looks up against it on these terms.

Brenin Taran is a five furlong performer who was impressive when winning at Thirsk on his reappearance. He has not been disgraced in defeat for the most part subsequently but is hard to fancy on these terms.

Dandy Man produced good efforts the last twice, finishing fifth in the Audi Stakes at Goodwood and seventh in the Nunthorpe at York last time. He is the pick on official ratings and has to be accorded plenty of respect here.

Peace Offering is a genuine front runner and has been better than ever in 2008, winning three times. He hasn't been in quite the same form so far this term but is adept in this type of race and it would be no surprise if he burns these rivals off.

Angus Newz is a grand mare who possesses bags of speed. She won this race last year but this is a stronger renewal, while she won't be able to dictate here with Peace Offering in opposition.

Zuzu is a speedy front-running filly who won twice at 2 yrs. She hasn't run to a similar level so far in 2009, though, proving particularly disappointing the last twice, and easier ground would be preferable.
