Timeform run the rule over the field for the Gopher Handicap...
Prescription undoubtedly has more to come representing leading connections but Forest Dane is impossible to ignore off his current mark and he's taken to give his yard its first winner in over two years. Ravi River could improve for his recent change of scenery and can chase them home. PSP
Al Gillani has been a highly-progressive sprinter on polytrack, winning three times in 2008 and again on his return in March. A couple of below-par efforts suggest the handicapper may have caught up with him.
Prescription rattled up a hat-trick last summer prior to a disappointing final start in 2008. She is entitled to strip fitter for her return at Doncaster last month and remains capable of further progress.
Halsion Chancer is a prolific all-weather scorer who took advantage of a lenient turf mark when bolting up at Lingfield last month. He has had excuses on his last two starts and is still 3 lb lower than when last successful on this surface.
Ravi River was better than ever when notching up back-to-back wins in February. He burnt a few fingers when second in a claimer at Kempton last time, but is not overburdened back in a handicap for a new yard after a break.
Ray Of Joy is a consistent performer in the main, though had no excuses for defeats on her last two starts, and needs to improve off her current mark.
For Life ended 2007 with four wins from his last five starts. He has been lightly raced since and was back to form when narrowly winning over course and distance in May. He was unable to lead next time and a similar scenario is envisaged here.
Lastroarofdtiger won an eight-and-a-half furlong maiden at Wolverhampton on just his second start in March but has not built on that since in handicaps and may need some more relief from the assessor.
Forest Dane was the yard's last winner back in April 2007 and there were signs his turn could be near again when second at Bath last time. A capable claimer's 7 lb allowance sees him race off a featherweight and he has an obvious chance.
Regal Royale became the yard's first winner for nearly a year when scoring over this trip on turf here recently, always looking in control on the rail. His ungenuine nature means he's worth taking on for the follow-up.
