Timeform run the rule over the M.J. Church Handicap...

With doubts surrounding most of his rivals, Moonshine Creek is the selection, despite being 2-lb out of the handicap. Gallego would be dangerous if fit for his return, while Seventh Hill should also be on the premises if reproducing his last run.

Duty Free was a capable handicapper in his day but looked to be going the wrong way last year and managed to beat only one home on his recent reappearance.

Riqaab got back on track when getting off the mark at Yarmouth last summer. He was a creditable second off this mark at Brighton on reappearance, but has yet to convince at this trip and others look better treated.

Colour Trooper got off the mark in a one-mile all-weather Lingfield maiden in September, but has made no impression in handicaps on both subsequent starts. He remains high enough in the weights on his return and has stamina to prove as well.

Gallego is a tough hold-up handicapper who won twice last year, showing improved form when doing so at Sandown in September. He remains on a handy mark, but there is no evidence to suggest he is at his best fresh.

Addiena slogged through the mud when popping up at Chepstow when last seen in August. She is equally effective on a firmer surface, but the longer trip and fitness have to be taken on trust.
Invention was well beaten all three starts last year but has tumbled in the weights and the tongue strap may bring about a revival.

Classical Rythym was a winner off a 2-lb lower mark on his reappearance in 2008, but his form tailed off afterwards and he didn't shape as though his turn was near on return here recently.

Seventh Hill has been gelded since ending 2008 on a low, and he posted his best effort for some time when third on the all-weather at Kempton recently. He has fair claims if reproducing that, but consistency is not his strongest suit.

Moonshine Creek is a free-going front-runner who responded well to pressure when regaining the winning thread at Brighton last time. He is 2- b out of the weights here, but is dangerous if allowed to set his own tempo.
