Six go to post for this £19,500 contest over two miles and a furlong, open to five-year-olds and upwards. Timeform rate the runners.
William Bonney heads the Timeform ratings. He is a fairly useful maiden chaser and found more than usual in first time cheekpieces when one and half lengths second to Super Formen at Taunton last time. He has now finished in the frame on all his starts over fences. A strong-travelling sort, he needs to be produced late.
Howard Johnson's Degas Art has been let down by jumping on both outings over fences. He raced far too freely when third to Chapoturgeon at Doncaster last time, making several early mistakes as a result. It's clear that he retains his ability, but needs to learn to settle and brush up on his jumping.
Camden George has shown fair form when placed on all four outings over fences. He faced a stiffish task when third to Ping Pong Sivola in the Timeform Novices' Chase at Cheltenham in January, jumping safely in the main. He still has room for improvement in his jumping and a more fluent round would make him a strong contender.
Quicuyo is a fairly useful chaser and was successful at Carlisle in December. He finished a creditable third to Polar Gunner in a handicap at Ayr last time, his keen-going nature and mistake at the last possibly contributing to his defeat. He should prove best around this trip and usually makes the running.
Donald McCain's Cromwell Court won a five-runner novice chase at Ayr in January and reportedly bled from the nose when very disappointing there next time. It would be no surprise to see him return to form. A sound jumper, he should give a good account if doing so.
Soubriquet is an interesting chasing debutant judged on the pick of his form over hurdles, but has been long way below his best since his reappearance and is one to treat with a bit of caution.
