"Delegator is a high-class performer, winning the Craven prior to finishing second in the 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes. He will be tough to beat if reproducing that level of form on his first run for Godolphin."
Delegator deserves a big prize after having to give best to top-class rivals Sea The Stars and Mastercraftsman this season , and his turn of foot should prove decisive against lesser opponents. Zacinto remains an exciting prospect.
Beacon Lodge has shown improved form this year, winning a seven furlong listed event at Haydock in May and a mile Group 3 at Chantilly in June. He seemed to struggle with the track when below par in the Sussex Stakes here last time.
Cesare is a hold-up performer who is usually campaigned at Ascot, returning as good as ever at the Royal meeting when second to Paco Boy. He has been well below that level since, though, and is hard to enthuse about here.
Mac Love posted a personal best when landing a muddling Group 3 over this trip at Salisbury earlier this month. He is clearly back on track for his current yard, but this is far more demanding.
Ordnance Row is a tough and reliable performer who won a listed event at Windsor in May. He ran a good sixth in a Chester handicap last time, but his limitations have been frequently exposed at this level and a similar story envisaged.
Smokey Oakey produced a career high when landing a ten furlong soft-ground Group 3 contest at Sandown in May 2008, but has generally struggled to scale the same heights since and it would be optimistic to think he can get involved.
Delegator is a high-class performer, winning the Craven prior to finishing second in the 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes. He will be tough to beat if reproducing that level of form on his first run for Godolphin.
Zacinto showed smart form on both runs as a juvenile, finishing second in a Group 2 at Doncaster in September. He got the job done in listed company on his belated return here recently and is capable of better yet.
