Timeform run the rule over the field for the E.B.F. Montrose Fillies Stakes...

This looks particularly strong for listed company, plenty dropping down from Group class such as Marie de Medici and Blue Angel, the former just given the verdict having only cracked close home at Deauville last time. There are dangers everywhere you look, Thrill and Timepiece to name but two.

Bint Almatar is a well-bred and imposing filly who won well on her debut in a mile maiden at Nottingham, leading late. She is quickly stepped up in class, but has plenty more to come, and is a useful prospect.

Blue Angel won a maiden at Kempton in July and has been much improved on her last two starts, most recently when sixth to Hibaayeb in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile. This drop in class affords her a leading contender status.

Cat Hunter improved on her first two starts when getting off the mark in a seven-furlong all-weather maiden last time. She is capable of better still, though she looks out of her depth on this step up in trip and grade.

Clarietta progressed when landing a competitive seven-furlong nursery here in August with something to spare. She was not disgraced in a Group 2 when upped to this trip last time, though this looks red-hot for listed level.

Dark Eyes won a Bath maiden going away on debut (race has thrown up plenty of winners). She belatedly built on that when third here in a seven-furlong nursery last time. While stepping up an extra furlong, this looks an ultra-stiff task.

Flip Flop didn't need to improve when getting off the mark in a six-furlong maiden at Folkestone last time. She has already shown that she stays seven furlongs and should get this trip, though she is up in grade and there are plenty of others who boast stronger claims.

Marie de Medici was off for three months prior to impressively landing a seven-furlong maiden at Leicester (broke juvenile course record), before progressing again when second in a mile Group 3 at Deauville. She is a big filly who is the type to progress further.

Nurture took a massive leap forward last time, finishing third of nineteen to the smart Shakespearean at the Curragh (1m) in a valuable sales race, staying on well. She looks the pick of the Hannon trio.

Sunarise was not knocked about on her debut and duly repaid the kindness, travelling sweetly and asserting in final furlong to win a seven-furlong all-weather maiden last time. She is up in class and trip here, though looks open to improvement.

Tashzara shaped much better last time, forcefully ridden when a neck second in a mile maiden at Navan. Much more is needed at this level, though, and her long-term future lies over at least a mile and a quarter.

Thrill is from a precocious family and there was much to like about her seven furlong win at Salisbury last time, not hard ridden to assert. She is the type to take this step up in class and trip in her stride, and looks a useful prospect.

Timepiece is from an excellent family and didn't have to improve on her course-and-distance debut second when making all to win with ease at Lingfield last time. This step up in class is a logical progression and she looks a useful prospect.

Wild Rose progressed well to double up in a mile maiden and seven-furlong nursery (handicap debut), both on polytrack. She has more to offer, but this is step up in class and the return to turf may not be ideal.

Yankee Bright made a promising start to her career in a couple of mile maidens and remains capable of better. However, she looks to be shooting for the stars here and shallower waters are needed before she breaks her duck.
