Timeform take a close look a tomorrow's £1 Million totetentofollow Rising Stars Novices Chase (Grade 2).
Six go to post for the Rising Stars Novices Chase at Wincanton, taken in the past by luminaries such as See More Business, Lady Cricket, One Knight and Comply or Die.
Paul Nicholls has won the last two renewals and today he saddles Breedsbreeze, a winner at Bangor on his chasing debut last month. He impressed with his fluent jumping that day, and didn't need to come off the bridle to assert when challenged after the last. He looks set to take high rank over fences, and this two-and-a-half-mile trip should pose no problem. He's open to considerable improvement.
Ring the Boss wasn't anyway near his best when winning a six-runner novice chase at Cheltenham last time, kept up to his work in the straight to prevail having jumped and travelled well. His best effort over fences came in the Kingmaker Chase at Warwick in February when finishing a neck behind subsequent Arkle second Kruguyrova over a distance that looked shorter than ideal for him.
Like Breedsbreeze, Sir Harry Ormesher also made a successful chasing debut, beating Straw Bear by a three-quarters of a length in a novice event at Exeter. He bettered his hurdles form at the first attempt, well placed from halfway and jumping fluently, getting on top at the last before idling. Although he's not straightforward, it was a promising initial effort and he should be able to build on it.
Keith Goldsworthy's Hold Em made a winning start over fences when beating Mount Oscar by one and a quarter lengths in a six-runner novice at Huntingdon. He was largely fluent apart from a mistake at the last and has improvement in him.
Both Oncle Kid and Commemoration Day will need to improve significantly on what they have shown so far to figure here.
