Present Gale will doubtless be popular given connections, but he looks a shade too high in the weights and is taken on with Go West, who shaped well on debut for this yard recently. Skipper's Lad can usually be relied upon to run his race.
"Go West is a trailblazer, in good form in spring 2008. Far more miss than hit since and looks less than straightforward, but offered more on debut for yard last time, and that should have put him spot on."
Present Galeis extremely lightly raced, but made it three wins from six chase starts at Worcester in August. He was still travelling when falling at Cheltenham last time, but the handicapper may well be in charge at present.
Wenger has not been seen since posting a career-best effort at Huntingdon in May 2008. He hasn't always impressed with his attitude, and has plenty to prove on belated return over a trip that may stretch his stamina.
Freeline Fury ended last term in fine form, completing a hat-trick at Newton Abbot in April. He has not been seen since a creditable fourth the following month, but looks a player on return if his suspect jumping holds out.
Dune Raider was back in headgear when scoring at Market Rasen in August. He has produced poor efforts since, though, and is not one to trust.

Skipper's Lad has been more consistent over fences of late, gaining due reward when successful at Uttoxeter recently in a change of headgear. He produced a creditable fourth last time, and should continue to give a good account.
Maidstone Mixture has won juvenile hurdles in France and Britain. His best effort over fences came when third at Perth in July. A reproduction of that would see him go close but his latest efforts have not been so good.
