Roll Along boasts a superb record on return from absence and since he would be giving away lumps of weight were this handicap should win barring accidents. Money Trix and Bold Ransom are fancied to be his closest pursuers.

Companero has won five of his seven hurdles/chases to date, including his reappearance on the corresponding card in 2008. He has a bit to find at the weights but is open to improvement and suited by the testing conditions.

Minster Shadow left hurdling form behind once switched to chasing in 2007/8, successful at Newcastle and over this course-and-distance. However, he has plenty to prove having failed to get round either start in 2008/9.

Money Trix is a smart hurdler and looks just as good over fences, winning two of his three completed starts in the latter sphere, including when last seen at Kelso in February. Very lightly raced thus open to improvement.

Roll Along is a high-class chaser who won a valuable handicap at Ascot on reappearance just over 12 months ago and posted career-best staying-on sixth in this year's Cheltenham Gold Cup. Should win on these terms.

Bold Ransom has taken a big leap forward since switched to fences, ending his 2008/9 campaign with a resounding victory at Kelso. Taking on a better class of rival here, though should have more to offer.

Lodge Land is a talented but ungenuine stayer. He made a successful start over fences but his jumping/attitude has been a problem since, his prospects of winning on these unfavourable terms are slim to say the least.

Maidstone Mixture won juvenile hurdles in France and Britain. He was very ordinary over fences and needs all six rivals to depart or massively underperform to win this.
