Timeform run the rule over the Cornhill Building Services Handicap...

Dispol Grand was arguably a shade unlucky at Beverley last time, and compensation quite possibly awaits here. Others to consider are Pedregal, third to Compton Ford at Catterick, and Smelly Cat, who is the potential improver in the line-up on her handicap debut.

Compton Ford won a course-and-distance seller in 2008 and has improved in handicaps this year, latterly when well backed to score at Catterick. 6-lb penalty makes life harder, though.

Dispol Grand is a speedy gelding who has run to a consistent level of form on three of his last four starts. He is versatile as far as ground goes and has a good chance given better luck in running (had to wait for gap last time).

Red Cell usually races prominently/makes the running. He was successful in a fout-runner seller at Lingfield in January but has shown no form since.

Fasliyanne took advantage of a lenient mark to win at Catterick and ran well when beaten three-quarters-of-a-length there by Compton Ford. She is now 5-lb better off with that rival but others are still preferred.

Taurus Twins improved to win an all-weather handicap at Southwell in March. He had valid excuses on his last two starts, racing on the unfavoured side at Nottingham on the latter occasion. His best form is at five-furlongs.

Smelly Cat was not without supporters on her debut but weakened as if amiss both two-year-old starts. She offered a bit more on her return and it would be no surprise were she to do better now in handicaps, with this looking her ideal trip.

Wee Bizzon was once second (five-furlongs on fibresand) but that said more about the race than her. Blinkers failed to perk her up on her penultimate start.

Badtanman is a poor maiden whose third in a five-furlong handicap at Wolverhampton last time still leaves him a tad short of what is required here. Blinkers have been left off on his last three starts but are now back on.

Pedregal is a poor maiden but is far from a lost cause. He was caught wide when one-and-a-half lengths third to Compton Ford at Catterick last time. He is now 6-lb better off and a contender, although a return to six-furlongs would suit more.
