Timeform scrutinise the recent performances of three notable horses...

Jukebox Jury produced a career-best effort to win a strong renewal of the Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock on Saturday. Mark Johnston's three-year-old is beginning to fulfil the promise he showed as a juvenile after a troubled start to the year, and this very smart performance is merely a prelude to what will follow when he's tried at twelve furlongs. Though outpaced initially in the straight, he stayed on gamely and gradually wore down Campanologist inside the last. Jukebox Jury has the option of the Voltigeur at York next week, although it may come too soon for him.

Igoyougo caught the eye when responding well to pressure to win a five-furlong handicap at Ayr on Saturday. Geoff Harker's gelding was strongly supported to build on his narrow defeat at Musselburgh and did so in no uncertain terms, looking a lot hardier under pressure than in his juvenile days. He comfortably held off challenges from Arriva La Diva, who has found her niche at five furlongs, and consistent performer Cheyenne Red. Igoyougo is on an upward curve and is likely to have a solid chance under a penalty, even before any potential improvement is factored in.

Tabassum looked an exciting prospect when winning an interesting fillies' maiden at Newmarket over seven furlongs on Saturday. Though all bar three were newcomers, the Sir Michael Stoute-trained filly saw off several with eye-catching pedigrees, including Meeznah, a half-sister to smart performer Shahin. Tabassum travelled strongly and showed a sharp turn of foot heading towards the final furlong, finishing comfortably clear of Huroof and Meeznah. She is bred to stay a mile and is already being talked about for the 1000 Guineas.
