Kauto beats Long Run to land his fifth King George
Timeform have provisionally rated Kauto Star on 181 and Long Run 180 in Monday's King George VI Chase...
It is the first time this century that the first and second in the Kempton race have both recorded bare performance ratings (without extra for ease of win or any other factor) of 180 or more.
Timeform provisionally have Long Run on 182 and Kauto Star on 181 despite the latter's two victories over his rival this term.
In winning the race Kauto Star produced a performance only one pound below Long Run's in winning the race last year, and his second best in terms of bare form behind his 2009 rout of Madison du Berlais (where he achieved a rating of 191+).
