Daily Racing Tips: Duncan dares at Newmarket....

Carl Harris is looking to follow a great day at HQ with more winners today.

We struck gold yesterday! First Misheer landed a brilliant win at a price that I couldn't believe, [4.8] was huge value, as I said, and thus it proved. Then Goldikova confirmed her class by winning yet another Group One cosily, also providing a winning lay of Rainbow View, and completing a really good set of results for us.

The July meeting continues on Thursday with the feature race being the group two Princess of Wales's Stakes. Regular readers will know that I have followed Duncan (3.10) ardently since he joined John Gosden. He ran a cracker last time in the Coronation Cup at Group One level, and down in class today should find his grade and win this in style.

Duncan finished fourth at Epsom but was less than a length behind Youmzain, Look Here and Ask, all of whom are solid top level performers. The form is rock solid and once again I feel the market is being generous, offering odds that we can not ignore. Group One form in lower grade is always worth following and I recommend taking the early price about Duncan, who I think will win, and is my best bet of the day.

Kite Wood (1.30) is also taking a drop in class, to Group Three level, having being an also ran in Sea The Stars' historic Derby win last time out. This horse is not good enough to trouble the big boys but should be more than up to the task today. The stable have hit form, and with Frankie Dettori aboard I will be backing Kite Wood to get the day off to a winning start.

I was very impressed with Orpen Grey (2.00) last time at Salisbury who ran out the very easy winner, by eight lengths. He is well drawn and hails from the Tom Dascombe stable who won this race last year with Classic Blade. If the rain comes then that would be a negative, but on good ground Orpen Grey should run very well.
