Ascot Betting: Duke of Marmalade touches evens on Betfair for King George

Punters are confident of the Duke's prospects at Ascot this Saturday but is Youmzain being under-estimated?

Duke of Marmalade is currently trading at even money on Betfair to win Saturday's King George at Ascot.

The Ballydoyle colt has proved relatively easy to back in recent days, having been matched at less than [1.80] at the height of his popularity in the market.

Youmzain is the current [4.30] second favourite, with Lucarno third best in the market at [10.00] after being punted today. Last year's St Leger winner has been supported at a high of [210.00] on Betfair's ante-post market.

Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "Duke Of Marmalade was undeniably impressive at Royal Ascot, and he is the marginal form horse in the race, according to Timeform.

"But I think evens is a more accurate reflection of his chances at the weekend, given this is his first try over 1m4f against proven top-flight performers such as Youmzain, who perhaps continues to be under-estimated by the market."
