Timeform looks at a maiden full of promising juveniles...
"The well-bred Clinical made an impressive winning debut, and looks almost certain to be making her mark at a much higher grade at some point, after such a smooth showing this early in her career"
This is a juvenile maiden which looks sure to throw up winners, with the first three all promising on debut, and doing well to draw a few lengths clear of the rest off an early gallop which was on the steady side.
The well-bred Clinical made an impressive winning debut, and looks almost certain to be making her mark at a much higher grade at some point, after such a smooth showing this early in her career. Clinical is from a family her trainer knows well, being a half-sister to Pattern race winners Prescription and Cupid's Glory. Sent off a well-backed 7/4 favourite, she was confidently ridden, and despite taking longer to quicken than her jockey had perhaps anticipated (excusable through greenness), she knuckled down when it mattered most to win by half-a-length. Clinical is bound to improve, and looks destined for bigger things.
Dubawi Gulf had clearly been showing ability at home judged by the market support for her beforehand, and she duly ran with plenty of promise on debut. She took a narrow lead over 1f out and was only run down close home by the winner, showing a good attitude. A maiden win should be a formality.
Fenella Fudge cost more than most in her stable, and shaped encouragingly on debut, travelling better than all bar the winner. She stayed on well, too, finishing third having initially looked a bit green when put under pressure. She should improve a good deal with this run behind her, and is definitely one to keep an eye on.
Fourth home Pandoro De Lago left the impression that something had been left to work on, and she may come on a lot for this debut. She was a bit sluggish from the stalls, but still showed plenty thereafter, challenging over 1f out, before tiring when fitness became an issue. She ought to improve significantly, and is worth following.
Istishaara has still more to come, with fitness possibly still an issue even on her second start, though she perhaps just needs to strengthen up in order to see her races out fully. She finished a creditable fifth, and has the potential to improve with time.
Sixth home Little Book looks to still be learning her trade, but improved significantly from her first start. She showed signs of inexperience, drifting right off the bridle, and looks sure to improve again for this run.
