Aswellasabentley should appreciate stiffer test
Small Town Hero won his first three starts over hurdles after joining Ian Donoghue and he made it four in a row when landing the odds over fences at Downpatrick last month.
Small Town Hero looked well treated off his lower chase mark and he duly proved a class apart from his rivals, readily asserting to score by five and a half lengths with plenty in hand, earning the Horse In Focus Flag from Timeform's reporter to mark him out as one likely to be of firm interest next time.
He's been hit with a 16 lb rise in the weights for that comfortable victory, but he's still only 5 lb higher than the mark he comfortably defied in a handicap hurdle at Wexford on his penultimate start. He narrowly tops Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings and also has the 'small p' to show further improvement is expected, so he stands out as the one to beat, for all he needs to prove his effectiveness on this more testing ground.

Just Her Type shaped as if needing the run when only sixth in a strong race on her return at Chepstow last month, and she duly stepped up on that effort and showed much-improved form to win at Ffos Las 16 days ago.
Just Her Type was held up early on but made progress on the approach to the third last, was going well in a share of the lead two out and stayed on strongly to score by four and three-quarter lengths.
She still looks fairly treated following a 6 lb rise in the weights for that emphatic success - she narrowly heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings - and her rangy physique suggests she remains likely to carry on improving for a while yet (she still has the Timeform 'small p').

Aswellasabentley failed to make an impact in four starts for his previous stable but shaped with encouragement when fourth at Kilbeggan in April on his first outing for Gavin Cromwell.
He also offered something to work with when filling the same position on his return at Downpatrick last month, leaving the impression that he'd benefit from that first start in six months.
By Walk In The Park out of a half-sister to the very smart Long Walk Hurdle winner Sam Spinner, Aswellasabentley's pedigree suggests that he should appreciate stiffer tests of stamina than those he's faced for his current yard. He still has the 'small p' to show he remains capable of better granted a suitable test and improvement is expected over this longer trip.
