Without Compromise in top form at Newcastle
A win at Windsor last Sunday meant that Sean Bowen has now been successful at each of Britain's jump tracks. The champion has ridden more winners at Uttoxeter than at any other track, and he can add another one to his total there aboard brother Mickey's Holokea.
A fair winner over hurdles last season, winning pointer Holokea already looks better in just two starts over fences which has prompted connections to give him a Welsh Grand National entry. He looks a strong stayer, and if he has any pretensions to going to Chepstow in a month's time, he should be capable of making it two out of three over fences here where he heads the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings.
After showing promise on his chasing debut when second at Worcester in a race that has worked out well, Holokea returned from a break to go one better at Ffos Las last month when asserting from three out to come home three lengths clear of Lilting Verse, earning the 'Horse In Focus' flag and giving the impression he'll improve again.

Bigz Belief has had a few different trainers in his career, most recently having a couple of starts in Jersey, and his latest change of stable has earned him the 'Trainer Uplift' flag following a move to Fergal O'Brien.
While it has been some time since Bigz Belief's last win, which came at Sligo over two years ago when he was trained in Ireland, he has slipped to an appealing mark despite making the frame on several occasions in Britain last term. In fact, he was a good fourth in this same race twelve months ago, which earns him the 'Horses For Courses' flag, from a mark 9 lb higher than today's.
That makes him top rated on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings, and with headgear refitted, he's also reunited with conditional rider Tom Broughton who was aboard for some of his best efforts last season.

Without Compromise cost a seven-figure sum as a yearling thanks to his fancy pedigree, being by Frankel and a full brother to the St James's Palace Stakes winner Without Parole. But he never made it to the track for Godolphin and was picked up for a fraction of that price by Antony Brittain last summer.
It has taken a while for things to click for Without Compromise, but he has evidently found his niche over Newcastle's mile and a quarter in recent weeks, with two wins and a good second in between. He was well supported when opening his account in October before bumping into a thriving rival in Jez Bomb on his next start and whom he meets again here.
Without Compromise got his head back in front again last time when his turn of foot proved decisive in a slowly-run race. Indeed, he won impressively once quickening to lead over a furlong out, pulling three and a half lengths clear of Molinari to earn the 'Horse In Focus' flag. His stable is having a productive autumn, and, heading the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings, a further 6 lb rise may not stop him going in again.
