Gavin Cromwell is on a long losing run at present, but the Gold Cup-winning trainer is a top-class operator so horses joining his yard are entitled to respect. The Lovely Man starts out for Cromwell in the novice handicap chase and the switch in stable has generated Timeform's Trainer Uplift Flag.
The Lovely Man was pulled up over hurdles at Limerick in December on his final start for Colm Murphy, but he had shaped with some encouragement when third in a beginners' chase at Fairyhouse prior to that, making some late headway without threatening to land a blow.
He looks on a fair mark on his handicap chase debut - he heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings by 2 lb - and still has the Timeform 'small p' to show that he remains likely to do better.

Into The Park failed to win in three starts last season and finished down the field on two occasions, but he shaped well when runner-up on his return at Uttoxeter last month and can build on that encouragement.
Into The Park was beaten a neck at Uttoxeter, but he may well have gone close had he not been short of room between the final two flights and conceded first run to the winner as a consequence.
That performance earned Into The Park the Horse In Focus Flag from Timeform's reporter, marking him out as one likely to be of firm interest next time, and he still looks fairly treated off a 2 lb higher mark.

There are only five runners in the Barberstown Castle Chase but it's an excellent edition and features a Grade 1 winner from last season in Champ Kiely and a couple of Grade 2 winners in Ile Atlantique and Only By Night. They are all penalised for those victories, however, so Inthepocket looks the one to beat on these terms.
Inthepocket was disappointing when only third behind Ile Atlantique in a Grade 2 over this course and distance when last seen in January, but he had been impressive on his reappearance at Wexford, beating a couple of useful sorts by a long way.
Inthepocket has seemingly had issues given he raced only three times across the last couple of seasons, but his hurdles form and his win over fences at Wexford show that he's a smart performer. He looks to have been found a good opportunity in receipt of weight from his main rivals and comes out 7 lb clear at the head of Timeform's adjusted ratings.
