Sans Bruit found a couple of relatively lightly-raced chasers too strong when bidding to win Aintree's Red Rum Handicap Chase for the third year in a row recently, but he still gave a good account of himself.
He possibly did too much too soon in the lead and had no answer when overhauled on the long run to the last, but he went through much of that race like a horse in good enough form to take advantage of his reduced mark, earning the Horse In Focus Flag from Timeform's reporter to identify him as one likely to be of firm interest next time.
Sans Bruit has been dropped 1 lb since his Aintree effort which means he is now 7 lb lower than when a decisive winner of the Sussex Champion Handicap Chase last season. He is on a dangerous mark and heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings by 6 lb.

Zavateri enjoyed a fantastic juvenile campaign and, by Timeform's reckoning, was only 4 lb inferior to the season's leading two-year-old, Gewan.
Zavateri won a Salisbury novice on debut and then laded the July Stakes and Vintage Stakes (both at Group 2 level) before making the breakthrough in top company in the National Stakes at the Curragh. Zavateri built on his previous efforts and showed smart form to narrowly get the better of a thrilling battle with Gstaad, impressing with his response to pressure.
He failed to reproduce that level when a respectable fourth behind Gewan in the Dewhurst Stakes on his final start of the season, but he looks the one to beat on his return in the Greenham Stakes and heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings by 7 lb based on his National Stakes form.

Murashah hasn't been seen since October 2024 but he's been given a chance by the handicapper - he's 3 lb lower than when runner-up on his latest outing - and make his return to action with new trainer Ed Bethell firmly among the winners. The switch to Bethell's yard has also generated Timeform's Trainer Uplift Flag.
Murashah made a promising start to life in handicaps in the autumn of 2024, finishing runner-up on both starts, including in a race at Newbury that proved a strong piece of form.
He heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings by 3 lb on his return to action and, although he's been off the track a long time, he still has the Timeform 'small p' to show that further improvement is expected.
