White Ladder has shown improved form since joining John Ryan this season, not beaten far on his first two starts for the stable, and confirming that promise when opening his account over this course and distance last week.
That success ended a drought for the yard which stretched back to March and there was plenty to like about his performance, a well-run race back at six furlongs bringing out the best in him.
He had to weave his way through runners around two furlongs out, but still had enough left in the tank to quicken clear in the final furlong, and he's one to keep on the right side turned out under a penalty - he has the Horse In Focus Flag.

Muskerry Rock opened his account in a handicap chase on his final start for James Kieran King and, though he's failed to justify favouritism on both occasions for the Skelton yard, he remains one to be interested in.
Both of those runs have come over hurdles and he's done little wrong, running right up to his best form when beaten a neck by an all-the-way winner at Fontwell, pulling well clear of the remainder, and beaten only a short head by one coming from further back at Market Rasen last time.
He's now 15lb higher in the weights back over fences, but the form of his latest run is already working out, and he surely won't be long in getting his head in front for the excellent yard. Muskerry Rock has blinkers replacing cheekpieces now and can deservedly gain some compensation for his recent near misses.

Several of these are open to improvement, but perhaps none more so than the John & Thady Gosden-trained Levens Hall, who has the Timeform Large P attached to his rating following his promising debut at Southwell.
He wasn't that strong in the betting, finishing third to his better-fancied stablemate who has won since and looks potentially smart, but he wasn't beaten far and was in dire need of the experience.
Levens Hall was given plenty to do, but finished with a real flourish once the penny started to drop, and it's no surprise he's been given plenty of time to get over that after unseating his rider after the post and managing to escape the racecourse. Hopefully he's none the worse for that experience and based on what he did on the racecourse, he's more than capable of winning a race of this nature.
