Not as competitive as the numbers suggest, and Harry Mole is taken to gain a deserved breakthrough success after a string of good efforts.

The Steph Hollinshead-trained four-year-old caught the eye of the Timeform race reporters when better than the bare result back down in grade at Ayr last time, caught deeper on the track from his low draw than the first two and up there pitching until late in the day.

Down another notch in terms of class of race, he remains one to be positive about for a yard that has a profitable 25% strike-rate at the course.

This is wide open and it could be worth siding with Taylormade Lad who took this prize a year ago off a 2 lb higher mark and should prove suited by stepping back up in trip after his latest Ayr seventh.  

The Michael Dods-trained four-year-old hasn't won since that victory 12 months ago, but he has twice shaped well at this venue (as well as at Hamilton) suggesting that he really is at home on a track that tests stamina.

Now back up in distance, he's fancied to double his tally.

One of the success stories of the summer, Gore Point took a big step forward in form terms when completing the four-timer over C&D last week and with the ceiling of his ability yet to be ascertained, Anthony Honeyball's six-year-old is fancied to take all the beating under a penalty.  

This is no penalty kick, with last year's well-handicapped winner Centara and in-form mare Obsessedwithyou joining Market Rasen winner Gower Prince on the shortlist, but Gore Point should have the race run to suit his strong-travelling style.

With his last three wins all coming here on quick ground, conditions look perfect once more.
