Catterick, 15.10 - Vince Le Prince @ 4/15.00

A rather lacklustre performance at Thirsk last time out did at least see Vince Le Prince drop another couple of pounds in the handicap, ensuring he is able to contest this Class 6 handicap.

That could mean the six-year-old finds his sweet spot as he is a three-time winner at the north Yorkshire venue and also boast the form figures 116 in today's grade.

Trainer Tim Easterby switches the gelding's normal cheekpieces with blinkers in the hope they reinvigorate the selecion who, although beaten, ran well in a better grade of race over course and distance in the spring.

Easterby is extremely adept at placing horses like Vince Le Prince and I wouldn't be the least surprised if the selection bounces back from that modest Thirsk showing here.

Leicester, 19.50 - Clipsham Noble @ 13/27.50

This 0-55 is a tricky affair, but there are reasons for believing Clipsham Noble may outrun his odds returned to one of his favoured venues.

Liam Wright has struck up a good relationship with the selection (form figures 832414 when he partners the four-year-old) and the duo have produced three solid displays at the Midlands track this summer, one of which saw the selection register a second career success.

Admittedly, Clipsham Noble would need a decent gallop to figure here as he often drops himself out leaving the stalls which isn't ideal for a handicapper rated 50 with some mileage on the clock.

However, Ricardo Phillips has been known to slide along at the head of affairs and, with a couple of the four-year-old's rivals sporting headgear for the first time, those that race keenly could contribute to a genuine pace.
