Given she can count notable handicappers Rathgar and Mezcala as close relations, there must surely be better to come from Pennine Way now she is handicapped.
The daughter of Aclaim displayed glimpses of ability over six furlongs at Southwell last winter and duly completed her mark-gathering third run at Catterick last month when a modest sixth to Zarvali in the first time hood.
The headgear has been dispensed with for this test and, although that modest reappearance event was nothing out of the ordinary, the fourth-home has at least won since to give the race some substance.
Pennine Way came off the bridle turning for home that day, but wasn't knocked about from that point by George Bass before keeping on well enough under minimal riding to take sixth.
Hopefully, she will be a lot more switched on here, both mentally and physically, and it could be worth noting that the hood has been left off this time in a bid for her to engage a little more.

After a spell out of training, it has taken Gary Harrison a while to find his feet once more, but recent signs have been more encouraging and Hi Lord could strike again for the Lanarkshire-based handler.
Harrison sent out his first winner since October 2013 when Chris's Mate scored at Newcastle back in June, but victories for today's selection and Filly's Last Lady last month confirmed he is on the right track with his select string.
Hi Lord has been beaten since contributing to Harrison's tally, but that was by less than a length at the hands of Parisiac over course and distance last week and with conditions sure to suit, the Due Diligence gelding could easily bounce back in this small field.
His best career run on the figures came on soft ground at Catterick so any easing of conditions shouldn't inconvenience his chances.
