Betfair tipster Sam Turner returns with three selections for racing at Bangor, Newcastle and Wolverhampton on Friday...

Bangor, 14.25 - Back They Want Me @ 7/42.75

It will be interesting to see how the layers price up this novice hurdle given there is a little more depth than you might expect in a race of this nature, even with Giantsgrave an absentee.

Four Springs, the subject of a recent wind op, has been favourite for all three of his racecourse starts so is clearly well regarded, even if he lost his unbeaten tag at Market Rasen on Boxing Day - a result which clearly prompted connections to despatch him for surgery.

No Cure makes his UK debut following a switch from Gearoid O'Loughlin who trained him to win a Limerick maiden hurdle in style over the festive period, while the presence of They Want Me catches my eye following his snug Kelso win last time.

The selection had previously chased home the classy Idaho Sun over course and distance and a repeat of that level would surely be enough to see him follow up his win in the Borders here. Hopefully, the presence of two potentially useful rivals ensure he is a backable price.

Wolverhampton, 16.22 - Back Ribble Vibe @ 9/43.25

At just 8,000gns, Ribble Vibe looks one of the best purchases of recent seasons judged on his progress for David Meara since the autumn of 2024.

Formerly trained by Andre Fabre for Godolphin, the five-year-old had been a slow burner for new connections, but he has begun to hit his straps on the all-weather this winter, including when a smooth winner over course and distance at the beginning of December.

That three-length defeat of Senior Cortez was achieved in both a decisive fashion and a strong speed figure and the race itself has worked out extremely well with both fourth home, Barenboim, and fifth across the line Aajej scoring since to give the form some substance.

A subsequent spin at Newcastle three weeks ago saw the selection run a highly commendable race behind useful all-weather stayer Duke Of Oxford, and a repeat of that level could be enough to see him find the winner's enclosure at Dunstall Park again.

Newcastle, 17.00 - Back Goldmoyne @ 9/43.25

Although both of Goldmoyne's December wins have been recorded over six furlongs, his two subsequent performances in defeat over a furlong further have been superior on the figures so he may gain reward for those performances here.

James Owen's six-year-old was unlucky to bump into the all-conquering Aisling Oscar last time when narrowly outpointed close home, a run which earned him a 4lb rise.

That might not be able to preevent him adding to recent gains here, especially under conditions which clearly suit him so well.
