Betfair tipster Sam Turner casts an eye over the Ludlow card on Wednesday and also targets Kempton's fixture on Saturday...

Ludlow, 16.05 - Back Diamonds Galore @ 7/42.75

It would be a touch harsh to suggest that Diamonds Galore didn't see out the extended two miles and five furlongs at today's venue last time, but she didn't hit the line as hard as winner Betty's Daisy so reverting to the minimum trip looks a sensible decision here.

The daughter of Diamond Boy is without a win in six career starts, but a mark of 109 is surely workable for a mare which travelled strongly at the South Shropshire track when last seen before giving way after jumping the second last.

There is a chance that a more strongly-run handicap plays to the strengths of the selection given her cruising speed and, although Westlain arrives in good form and Dan Skelton is double handed with a couple of likely types, I'm hoping the handicapper has underestimated the ability of Diamonds Galore.

Saturday, Kempton, 15.00 - Back Klub De Reve

With the pre-Cheltenham racing fairly substandard bar the occasional gem, Saturday's card at Kempton is very much worth a second glance with Klub De Reve of interest in a competitive looking Dovecote Novices' Hurdle.

Trainer Harry Derham has enjoyed a good couple of weeks with Jasmine Bliss and Queens Gamble landing valuable Listed chases, while a weekend trip to Scotland yielded another couple of successes at Musselburgh.

Derham takes aim at the Kempton fixture with One Horse Town who may run in the Adonis Hurdle, Jasmine Bliss (Pendil Novices' Chase) and Klub De Reve who bids to win his first Graded hurdle with success in the Dovecote.

The six-year-old was an impressive winner on Boxing Day at Saturday's venue, displaying smart acceleration to bolt up by 10 lengths, clocking a final four furlong sectional in line with Sir Gino who turned the Christmas Hurdle into a romp.

The selection was only 20 lengths slower overall than Nicky Henderson's one-time Champion Hurdle favourite while gaining more than 13 lengths on his field through his nimble hurdling and a similar display could make him tough to beat on Saturday.

The Sportsbook have wisely ducked his chance at 7/24.50, but there is 5/16.00 available at the time of writing in the village.
