Sam Turner found a 5/1 winner last Friday and returns with two all-weather selections this week...

Lingfield, 15.12 - Back Ferrous @ 11/43.75

Racing has had a distinct pre-Cheltenham feel to it recently and making a strong case for many selections has been rather a test.

Hopefully, Ferrous can buck that trend in this handicap with his chance looking solid, even with the progressive El Bodon in opposition.

The selection acquitted himself well in a warm course and distance Listed event last time where Diligent Harry and Completely Random shared the spoils.

The former has since gone on to score well since dropped back in trip and the time of the race suggested it was form which wanted following.

Ferrous has the opportunity to test that theory today and, as he did so well to finish within a couple of lengths of the main protagonists in the Kachy Stakes, he ought to be competitive once more with Tom Marquand back on board.

Wolverhampton, 19.45 - Pride Of Donegal @ 10/34.33

The argument for Pride Of Donegal isn't quite so compelling as the first selection, but the application of a visor could see the Saxon Warrior colt record a second career win in this staying handicap.

Gelding the four-year-old may help to iron out one or two little kinks which have been evident to date, however multiple Group 1 winner Pride is the selection's mother so maybe connections are harbouring hopes of him enjoying a different profession when he retires.

A recent third at Dunstall Park over today's trip again suggested Pride Of Donegal is capable of winning off a mark of 80 and, hopefully the headgear will serve to concentrate the mind as he looks to take out a handicap which doesn't appear to have huge strength in depth.
