Sam Turner returns with four selections on a busy day's racing on Friday...

Kelso, 13.30 - Back They Want Me @ 9/43.25

I was keen on the claims of They Want Me at the recently cancelled Bangor fixture, but he could find this novices' hurdle a nice fit at this stage of his education.

This is far from a gimme for Donald McCain's gelding with the likes of Kaka's Cousin and Kocktail Bleu in opposition, but he won very snugly over course and distance during the festive period and looks capable of building on that success here.

If you look back at the selection's record, then you find a point-to-point defeat of the now 130-rated Swindon Village at Punchestown and, while its far from a reliable way of gauging the qualities of They Want Me, that performance and a credible display behind Supreme Novice Hurdle contender Idaho Sun at Bangor suggest we are talking about an above average novice.

Chepstow, 15.10 - Back Love Of Neymore @ 11/26.50

My regular reader will be aware I'm a fan of Robbie Llewelyn's work and his campaigning of Love Of Neymore this season.

The Gentlewave mare ran a blinder to land the place part of our wager in a hot Windsor handicap on Winter Millions weekend, despite the track not looking to play to her strengths.

A return to Chepstow should be much more comfortable for the selection who beat subsequent winner Champagne Chic at the Welsh venue before Christmas before going on to run a blinder behind Ma Shantou and Ace Of Spades at Cheltenham.

The former won the Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle next time out, while Ace Of Spades obliged cosily at Huntingdon to enhance the form in style.

Love Of Neymore may face a little pace pressure from the likes of Holly Hartingo, but she remains fairly treated on 119 and makes some appeal here.

Wolverhampton, 17.15 - Back R P McMurphy @ 7/42.75

The addition of the cheekpieces has seen an upturn in the level of performance from R P McMurphy since the turn of the year and he could supplement his recent Wolverhampton win in this apprentice handicap.

The selection missed a similar engagement late last month with a temperature, but connections looked to have found a similar event here and, with the form of his defeat of subsequent dual winner How's The Guvnor working out pretty well, he can prove the answer to this opener.

Wolverhampton, 20.15 - Back My Genghis @ 13/82.63

Stall one can prove both a blessing and a curse over the minimum trip at Wolverhampton and it was certainly a case of the latter for My Genghis on Monday when Marco Ghiani found himself running up a cul de sac in the straight late on.

William Carson is back on board in the finale as trainer Tony Carroll bids to add to a sizeable haul of 26 winners already pocketed in 2026 (at the time of writing) with success for the seven-year-old.

My Genghis is no good thing here, but he remains in good heart and stall five should make life a little easier for his rider.
