Uttoxeter, 15.00 - Back Secret Trix @ 6/42.50

In all the noise surrounding Sean Bowen's outstanding achievements in the saddle, the record of trainer Olly Murphy is often forgotten.

In the last calendar year stretching back to June 1st 2025, the Midlands handler has sent out nigh on 140 winners in his own right, providing his stable jockey with in excess of 100 winners.

Bowen is brilliant make no mistake, but the phenomenal firepower at his disposal is also a major reason for his success.

The duo team up trying to add to Murphy's 16 successes this season with Secret Trix in this handicap hurdle and, although exposed at the age of nine, this race represents ideal conditions for the selection who has run five times over course and distance yielding figures of 31133.

There looks the potential for a genuine gallop in this event courtesy of Faded Fantasy and Breezethroughlife and that should assist Secret Trix who is usually ridden chilly and brought with one challenge late on.

Ffos Las,  20.20 - Back Buck Barrow @ 10/34.33

It feels akin to sacrilege tipping in a 0-50 Classified event at Ffos Las on the eve of Classic weekend at Epsom, but Buck Barrow hails from a stable in red-hot form at present so could send us into Oaks day on the back of a winner.

Admittedly, the son of St James's Palace Stakes winner Without Parole has hardly set the world alight since joining Adrian Wintle last spring from Irish handler Mark Fahey, but his sole career success was achieved at today's venue and the selection has also run creditably on two other occasions at the Welsh track.

While his latest effort at Bath over 14 furlongs was uninspiring, it did serve to see Buck Barrow drop to a mark of 50, enabling him to contest this event with George Wood booked for the first time.

Wintle has sent out 14 runners in the past fortnight and if those that started at 33/1 or bigger are stripped out of the sequence, his stats read 24613156114.

Those numbers are excellent for a trainer often operating with horses of a modest ability and Buck Barrow should have no issue if conditions ease markedly leading up to racing.
