Superstar Baaeed 1.51/2 takes to the turf to maintain his seven-race unbeaten streak, and he looks tough to oppose having already beaten four of his seven rivals.
Lights On 41.040/1 and Accidental Agent 67.066/1 are the two yet to face the Shadwell star. Still, all roads lead to an eighth consecutive victory for the William Haggas-trained powerhouse, and Haggas is 1-1 100% with older horses at Ascot this season.
This is a race punters may want to look in the without favourite markets on the Betfair Sportsbook.
Aidan O'Brien has won this contest nine times, and his representatives are Blackbeard 4.03/1 and Age Of Kings 6.05/1, with expectations seemingly higher for the former.
Persian Force 3.55/2 will look to go one better than his sire Mehmas who was touched off in this contest in 2016, and Richard Hannon has compared him to the yard's excellent 2009 winner Canford Cliffs.
Hannon was narrowly touched off Olympic Glory in 2012 and with Threat in this contest in 2019, so the yard will be looking for a change of luck from their top-class stable star.

This year's King's Stand sees the highest-rated sprinter on the planet Nature Strip 2.47/5, take on US trailblazer Golden Pal 4.57/2 in an all-international affair.
Nature Strip represents Australian trainer Chris Waller who was famed for the exploits of his outstanding star Winx. The trainer has previous at Royal Ascot when sending over Brazen Beau, who finished second in the then Diamond Jubilee.
Twice a winner with the smart Blue Point trainer Charlie Appleby has a strong hand with the 118-rated Man Of Promise 15.014/1, who drops back to five furlongs for the first time and 112-rated Lazuli 26.025/1, who has an excellent record fresh.
The Ascot Stakes is the first handicap of the meeting, and four-time winner Willie Mullins saddles Bring On The Night 5.04/1. Mullins was an unfortunate second in this contest last term and had four of the first five home in 2018.
When Willie Mullins has had just one representative in this contest, his form figures read 112.
Gary Moore's Make My Day 15.014/1 was a horse I tipped when unlucky at Goodwood nine days ago, but punter's beware, Moore's record when turning out horses within nine days is just six from 50 (12%).
Trainer Ian Williams has won two of the last three runnings of this contest and re-applies the cheek-pieces to last year's winner Reshoun 15.014/1 - it's normally the second run in re-applied headgear that's the time to catch him.
A wide-open contest yet again this term. Only two favourites have won this race in the last ten years, and Juan Elcano 8.07/1 will bid for back-to-back victories.
Only two winners have been drawn higher than stall eight in the last ten years.
Interestingly, four of the last six winners were drawn in stall five.
Trainer John Gosden is looking for a fourth win in this race, and he saddles Harrovian 11.010/1.
Jockey Wayne Lorden is just 1/39 for trainer J A Stack, but he makes the journey over for one ride on Pita Pinta 21.020/1.
Trainer Joe Tickle is looking for his first winner on the flat with the once smart Danehill Kodiac 51.050/1, who in 2017 beat Arc hero Waldgeist here in the Cumberland Lodge Stakes.

Furthest traveller
Today's furthest traveller at Royal Ascot within the UK is trainer Keith Dalgleish with his runner Alright Sunshine 26.025/1 in the 18:10. The trainer is not shy of a long journey and has made the 388-mile trip to Ascot today.
Race of the day
Today's race of the day is the 16:20 St James's Palace Stakes, where 2,000 Guineas hero Coroebus will look to emulate last years winner Poetic Flare by following up in this contest.
It's hard to pick holes in what Coroebus has achieved, and he looked excellent when scoring in the 2,000 Guineas over subsequent Irish 2,000 Guineas winner and stablemate Native Trail. The form of that race tends to work out every year, but there is a slight query about whether he was on the favoured side of the track and slightly flattered? Either way, this is the first test away from Newmarket, and he has some unexposed improvers to take on today which will provide a stern test.
He is rock solid, but not one punters should be running scared of.
German 2,000 Guineas winner Maljoom looked right out of the top draw when scoring in Cologne and did remarkably well to run down the runaway leader from an impossible racing position. He looks top-class and has been slightly underestimated by the market, considering he has achieved a rating two pounds higher than Coroebus did at this stage of his career.
The most interesting runner.
My Prospero may have been flattered by the result at Sandown when taking the scalp of an undercooked Reach For The Moon, but he stays strong, and that will give him every chance on this big jump up in grade. He is highly progressive, but this demands far more of him. Will he have the speed?
Big race verdict
A cracking race but ready each-way preference is for Maljoom to upset the favourite. He did remarkably well to win the German 2,000 Guineas, and he has a strikingly progressive profile that suggests the ceiling of his ability is completely unknown. He gets the vote.

Final Word
It's finally here. Royal Ascot gets underway today, and what a cracker the next five days look set to be!
The day's big fancy for me is Maljoom in the feature race. I think he is a proper tool, and providing he doesn't lose the race at the gates, it's hard to see too many passing him if in a prominent position.
I am also interested to see these hype machines in Golden Pal and Nature Strip. It makes it very difficult to have a play in the race when the quality of the pair is somewhat unknown. I don't like it when people suggest these Aussie or US horses are "machines" or "unbeatable", and anyone tipping them, well, that's another head-scratcher, given the racing over that side of the pond is completely different to the UK - some, not all, are usually just trying to act smart.
Remember, fellow punters; it's a long five days! Until tomorrow, be lucky!
