I think Freddie Gingell would like to have a nice win on this horse because having been beaten twice by a nose by Jordan's Cross, who has won since, it's obviously frustrating for him, so hopefully he can put that record straight.
He made a couple of mistakes early on at Kempton in an open handicap. The ground was probably a bit quicker than what we thought it would be that day so this slower ground, back in novice company, should suit him well.
He ran really well at Sandown the last day, stayed on really strongly and gets to run off the same mark so he must have a nice chance in this. He was unlucky in some ways not to win at Sandown, Freddie Keighley made the wrong decision two out unfortunately, he just went the wrong side with horses coming back at him, if he'd have had a clear run he would probably have very nearly won.
I think three miles on a flat track will suit him nicely and it would be nice to qualify for the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham, so he must have a chance.
He's in the grip of the handicapper and he's not getting any younger. He ran well in this race last year and then went on to Uttoxeter, which is the plan again, but at the moment I think he's got it all to do.
