Katie Midwinter has tips at Cheltenham, Doncaster, Fairyhouse and Newcastle on Saturday

Horse Racing tipster Katie Midwinter has selections at Cheltenham, Doncaster, Fairyhouse and Newcastle on the Betfair Sportsbook this Saturday...

Fairyhouse, 12:02 - Back Tareze @ 9/25.50

Henry de Bromhead-trained mare Tareze makes her third start over fences in this 2m5f contest and should be able to make her presence felt on the back of two creditable runs.

She was no match for subsequent Grade Two winner July Flower, a promising prospect who also represents Knockeen, on chasing debut at Limerick, before finishing fourth to Flicker Of Hope over a furlong shorter here.

The six-year-old lost little in defeat and is capable of showing further improvement on her two recent runs. She shaped with promise as a novice hurdler following a point winner over Sharp Object, chasing home now 142-rated chaser Bioluminescence when ahead of now 148-rated Paggane in a Punchestown maiden hurdle.

The daughter of Kayf Tara also placed at Listed level after shedding her maiden tag with a 27-length success at Clonmel. At Navan in February, Tareze claimed Listed honours of her own winning the race previously won by Brighterdaysahead, who beat Pastorale in the 2024 renewal, showing an affinity for softer conditions.

There should be further progression to come from this lightly-raced mare, who can make her mark as a chaser this season, and in the hands of Darragh O'Keeffe, she makes appeal.

Cheltenham, 13:15 - Back Theonewedreamof @ 11/26.50

Theonewedreamof showed plenty of potential when trained by Gavin Cromwell in Ireland, putting in numerous creditable performances and winning on the Flat, over hurdles, and over fences for her former trainer.

Now representing Dan Skelton, the six-year-old finished second on yard debut before winning at Exeter when last seen, beating Gyenyame by two-and-a-half-lengths. She has a 5lb rise to defy here, but that may not be enough to hamper her form and she can put in another bold bid as she seeks a seventh career success.

This is only her tenth start over fences and, with three wins to her name over the larger obstacles to date, there could be more to come from her.

The daughter of French Navy makes the most appeal for win purposes in this competitive contest, and could just prove better than her rivals with experience in her favour under Harry Skelton.

Cheltenham, 13:15 - Back Greyval E/W @ 9/110.00

From an each-way perspective, likeable grey Greyval is too big a price to ignore at odds of 14/115.00 for Fergal O'Brien.

The six-year-old made her chasing debut at Huntingdon when last seen, jumped fairly well on the whole despite proving no match for dominant winner Pic Roc, who has enhanced the form since.

It was a solid starting point for her as she embarks on her chasing career and, should she be able to take a step forward for the effort, she could be good enough to make the frame under Johnny Burke.

Her latest win over flights came from a 5lb lower mark when beating Bethpage over an intermediate distance at Prestbury Park. Whilst she must transfer that level of form to chasing, she appears well-treated at the weights and is unexposed coming into the race, making each-way appeal at the prices.

Cheltenham, 13:50 - Back Il Ridoto E/W @ 12/113.00

Course-and-distance winner Il Ridoto has amassed plenty of valuable experience at Cheltenham over the years and often runs well in competitive handicaps here. He wasn't seen to best effect behind Panic Attack last month but can fare better now back on his last winning mark of 141.

Last term, the likeable gelding won the valuable Paddy Power Gold Cup, beating Ga Law, who chased him home in second. That was a deserved victory for the Paul Nicholls-trained contender who had finished third in the previous renewal before going on to be narrowly denied in the December Gold Cup and making the frame once again in January's equivelant at the track.

From a workable mark, the experienced eight-year-old can make his presence felt under Harry Cobden and cannot be discounted considering the form he has shown in the past, and, at a price of 10/111.00, he makes each-way appeal.

Cheltenham, 13:50 - Back Ga Law E/W @ 20/121.00

Another to consider each-way is Ga Law, who also has course-and-distance winning form. He represents the in-form Jamie Snowden, who is also represented by Colonel Harry.

Ga Law must defy top-weight to win but he's only 4lb higher than his previous success here and 1lb lower than when second to Il Ridoto at the track last season. He also has 7lb claimer Isabelle Ryder easing his burden, giving him a strong chance at the weights should he come on for his latest run at Wetherby.

Last seen in the Charlie Hall Chase, his first run following a 189-day break, Ga Law had plenty to do to beat Djelo, who could have Grade One aspirations on the horizon. He's entitled to improve for his reappearance and this assignment should be more suitable.

In his penultimate start, the likeable nine-year-old finished a creditable third to Gaelic Warrior at Sandown in the Grade Two Oaksey Chase when equipped with first-time blinkers. That represents a decent formline and he is far from a forlorn hope at surprisingly big odds of 20/121.00.

Fairyhouse, 14:15 - Back Gino Bella E/W @ 6/17.00

Gino Bella was well supported into 11/43.75 favourite when a late faller on handicap debut at Cork during the sprint. She appeared from a mark of 95 following three modest appearances in maiden company in which she did place third to Stuntman Steve at Clonmel.

In a Ballinrobe bumper on debut, the daughter of It's Gino finished third to Butch Cassidy, shaping with some promise behind the €140,000 son of Walk In The Park on that occasion.

Since her handicap debut in March, Gino Bella has finished third and won on the point-to-point scene and has switched stables from Barry Fitzgerald to Patrick Foley. She made her debut for her new yard when last seen at Thurles recently, finishing a creditable third to Theanniversary Man on her return over flights, and, from a 1lb higher mark, can make the frame once again.

The five-year-old remains unexposed in handicap company and is open to further improvement. She is bidding to shed her maiden tag under Rules in this two-and-a-half-mile contest, and could do just that under Simon Torrens.

Doncaster, 14:40 - Back World Of Fortunes @ 4/15.00

World Of Fortunes could be worth keeping onside as she bids to beat warm favourite Kateira in this Listed contest. She has 8lb to find on ratings with her older rival but has course-and-distance form in her favour and could pose a considerable threat under Jordan Gainford.

The seven-year-old was narrowly denied in a Listed Limerick contest when last seen, having recorded success in handicap company at Ballinrobe in her penultimate start. She was able to land Listed honours at this venue in March, adding to her previous Listed win at Limerick, and also recorded a four-length success at Listowel over Paggane, who has since considerably franked the form.

Her only disappointing efforts came against tough opposition or in Grade One company, featuring in races won by July Flower, Final Demand and Aurora Vega during her previous campaign. In a bumper at Wexford earlier in her career, World Of Fortunes was able to convincingly beat a subsequent dual Grade Three winner in Familiar Dreams, who later fetched €310,000.

There's plenty of substance to her form and she is a formidable mare on her day. If she turns up at her best, she can put in a bold bid and can prove a worthy rival to Kateira.

Cheltenham, 15:35 - Back Lagoon Nebula E/W @ 18/119.00

Sporting a first-time hood on her return to Cheltenham, Andrew Kinirons-trained Lagoon Nebula warrants each-way consideration as she bids to remain unbeaten at the track. She recorded a surprise 28/129.00 success here in April and now runs from a 7lb higher rating of 115 with Sam Twiston-Davies taking the ride.

The four-year-old filly has run well on the Flat on a few occasions since, including when achieving a second-placed finish at Chester following her latest win, and, on her return over obstacles, she could be capable of making the frame.

This is a step up in class but Lagoon Nebula is unexposed making only her fifth hurdling start, and the daughter of Ulysses has course form in her favour.

Newcastle, 17:45 - Back Tough Enough E/W @ 20/121.00

Tough Enough has been in the tracker for a while and for a second looked as though he may reward the faith when sent off at odds of 18/119.00, backed in from the earlier 50/151.00, eventually finishing a creditable fourth.

It was a much improved effort on his previous few appearances and, although he couldn't quite finish well enough to have more of an impact on the race, he could come on for his first run for 125 days and fare better this time.

Considering he has that recent course-and-distance form and he's down to a mark of 77, 10lb below his latest win, Tough Enough is one to keep onside. He was an exciting prospect for James Tate earlier in his career, recording form figures of 231 as a juvenile before winning two of his first three starts as a three-year-old. His good run of form didn't continue, however, and he was subsequently gelded before switching to Antony Brittain's yard where he currently resides.

The son of Showcasing has spent plenty of time off track but he showed he retains some ability when beaten only a length-and-three-quarters over this course-and-distance last spring, outrunning odds of 40/141.00 that day, and this could be his time to finally strike for his current connections.

A likeable gelding who is more than capable of winning at this level on a going day, Tough Enough makes the most appeal across the cards on Saturday and could finally return to the winners' enclosure in the hands of Cam Hardie.
