Likeable gelding is on handy mark for new yard
Course-and-distance winner Forca Timao returns to the scene of his latest victory last spring from the same mark of 68, making him one to note for Mark Pattinson.
The son of Kessaar was given a 7lb rise for his comfortable five-and-a-half-length victory at the track, subsequent finishing seventh from a mark of 75 when sent off at odds of 50/151.00 at Yarmouth. He has struggled for form in his following runs but, from a lower mark, can fare better in the hands of Thomas Greatrex at a track where he is proven.
The five-year-old is also dropping back in trip having been seen over an extended 1m5f at Chelmsford when last seen, and, at a price of 11/112.00, could be capable of a resurgence in form from a workable mark.

Likeable gelding Spangled Mac is on a lenient mark from a rating of 88, down 8lb since his return to action in Britain last spring, having enjoyed success in Bahrain over the winter months. He's now 8lb below his last winning mark in Britain, when a brilliant winner at Newcastle two years ago where he made up plenty of ground following a sluggish start to narrowly beat Bergerac.
Since then, Spangled Mac has put in a number of competitive performances in tricky handicaps, including in his penultimate start at Thirsk when third to Eternal Sunshine. He was far from disgraced at Doncaster when last seen, beaten only a length-and-a-half by Desert Falcon when sent off at odds of 28/129.00 in a competitive handicap.
The six-year-old finished a length-and-a-quarter fourth to now 109-rated Lethal Levi in a Newbury handicap last year, in receipt of only 1lb from the winner, making the frame from a mark of 97 under Rossa Ryan that day. He has proven he can be in the mix from a much higher rating, making him an enticing proposition at odds of 25/126.00 here with Jack Callan taking 5lb off.

Making her eighth career start, three-year-old filly Belle Amie could prove worth keeping the faith in on the back of two second-placed efforts at Southwell. She was beaten six-lengths by Both Of Us when able to defy odds of 28/129.00 to make the frame in her penultimate start, before being denied only a neck by Hickton when joint-favourite in her subsequent race last month.
Given a 3lb rise for that effort, the daughter Belardo is stepping back up slightly in trip, racing over an extra furlong-and-a-half here.
Belle Amie has previously been tried over a mile-and-three-quarters, unsuccessfully when a well-beaten fourth of five at Yarmouth during the summer, but has had a break since then and appears in better form coming into this race. She remains unexposed over the staying distances as well as in handicaps, with the potential for further improvement.
Out of a two mile winner in Corpus Chorister, daughter of Soldier Of Fortune and half-sister to Havre De Paix, who David Menuisier saddled to two victories, including at this venue, Belle Amie is a half-sister to Group Three winner Caius Chorister, a talented stayer.
There should be further progression to come from Belle Amie, particularly over the staying distances given her pedigree, and this could be the time to catch her on a going day as she bids to make it third time lucky in recent months.

Eight-year-old gelding Tyger Bay has winning course-and-distance form, with form figures of 3212 here in recent seasons, and is only 6lb higher than his previous winning mark, capable of defying a 2lb rise for his recent length second at the track earlier this month.
The experienced performer, who makes his 81st career start in this contest, has been able to be competitive from a higher mark in the past and makes appeal at the weights under Joe Leavy, who has guided him to multiple victories previously.
Often seen finishing strongly, Tyger Bay is a generally consistent performer but does need plenty to go right during his races in order to finish in front. He can often find trouble in-running when mounting his challenge, but has a favourable draw in stall 4, and has valuable course experience which should hold him in good stead.
Trained by Conrad Allen, Tyger Bay is bidding for a 14th career win in this 6f sprint, and warrants serious consideration at a track where he excels.

Another course-and-distance winner to consider in this race is Rebel Empire, who makes his debut for Mick Appleby having recently switched yards.
Formerly trained by Richard Hannon, the likeable four-year-old was a brilliant winner here in a higher class handicap in January, when he defied odds of 20/121.00 to prevail over We Never Stop in good fashion, sweeping late and finishing strongly.
He's rated 7lb lower currently, although is without the 3lb claim of Joe Leavy, Eddy Greatrex taking the ride, and, considering he has put in decent efforts from a mark of 80 in the past, should hold solid each-way claims at the weights.
The son of Goken did take some time to get off the mark last year, putting in some respectable performances in defeat, gaining valuable experience before finally shedding his maiden tag at the seventh time of asking last December.
He was able to record three victories in five starts last winter, as well as suffering only a half-a-length defeat at Southwell, and this could be the time of year to catch him. He's returning from a short break for a new trainer in familiar surroundings, and should be able to make his presence felt from a handy rating.
Rebel Empire is a formidable performer on his day and, despite not enjoying the best of times on track during the later summer months this year, has the potential for even further progression beyond his previous winning marks, putting him in with a great chance should things pan out favourably for him here.
